Last month, Anfields Rocket (Coup de Grace - Milla's Rocket) won the SA Classic (SAF-G1) yesterday at Turffontein. I thought it was worth mentioning because his sire Coup de Grace is a son of Tapit.

Coup de Grace was sold to South Africa in 2016. The Sporting Post website lists him as a "retired sire." I wonder what happened, as he is only 12.

Vertem Asset Management, the sponsor of the Group 1 Futurity Trophy at Doncaster and the Eider Chase at Newcastle, has been ordered to immediately cease carrying on all regulated activities by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Vertem was founded by John Dance, who owned super filly Laurens. Dance is also part owner of top Chaser Bravemansgame. He recently bought and renovated Manor House Farm in Middleham and turned it into a private training yard for his horses. He’s a pretty big owner in the UK.

Alcohol Free finished 10th of 16 in the G1 Queen of the Turf Stakes over 1 mile at Randwick. Her first start for new connections in Australia after being bought for 5,400,000 Guineas by Yulong Investments at the Tatts December Mare Sale last year. Looks like she just got tired and faded in the last furlong. Would be interested to see her over 6 or 7 furlongs next time out.

Very good card at Longchamp today 3 group races the race im looking forward to the most is the Prix De La Grotte over 7 fur for fillies.

We see the return of Blue Rose Cien winner of the Prix Marcel Boussac last year.

There are 4 unbeaten fillies in this race and im hopeing Algolia can go close here.

She is stepping up in class today but she has impressed me with her 2 wins so fingers cross.

This is a short story that happened to me 42 years ago

I decided to go by train to Newbury the train was packed i managed to get a seat and a woman sat next to me

On arrival at the course i went my own way

After racing i managed to get a seat on the train and the woman who sat next to me again sat next to me going back we chatted about the days racing neither of us back a winner

Did i back a winner ? yes when i met her

I married this wonderful lady after 2 years and we have been together ever since.

Best thing that ever happen to me

Australian Champion Anamoe has been retired to stud at Darley, where he’ll stand for $121,000AUD. He was due to run at Royal Ascot but I guess being beaten by Dubai Honour in his last race gave connections second thoughts.

I'm sorry to hear that. I was looking forward to Anamoe representing Australia at Ascot. The Down Under crew has done better with sprinters than middle distance types, but I thought the Street Boss horse had the best chance to succeed since So You Think.

3 times Group 1 winner Hurricane Lane returns to the track tomorrow at Newbury.

He is showing odds on for the John Porter Stakes Group 3

It will be how fit Charlie Appleby has got him for his first run back after being of the track for nearly 10 months.

Poor Frankie was unseated from favorite Chaldean when bumped at the start of the Greenham S (G3) at Newbury today. Both horse and rider are okay.
