Well they've been trying to get it developed into 400 houses for years. Maybe they got tired of trying and are just selling it.

Germany's Arc winner of 2021, Torquator Tasso (by Adlerflug) is the third horse in German history who made the triple in 3 consecutive years as "Horse of the Year". In 2022 he was also 3rd in Alpinista's Arc and runner up in the King George VI. & Queen Elizabeth II. Stakes in Ascot before he retired to stud.

In this year's "Horse of the Year" election which is an audience award he defeated 2022 Derby winner Sammarco (by Camelot) and his own younger half brother Tünnes (by Guiliani), who won the Gr.Pr. von Bayern (Gr1) and the German St. Leger last year.

Magnificent really is the best word to describe him. I hope Lonhro has a long and happy retirement.

I know he has a successful, look-alike son in Denman, but does he have other notable sons at stud? TIA.

Doesn't surprise me. I noticed his digital certificate was assigned to Laurel Park last autumn. So I had speculated that perhaps they were starting on the process to bring him back. Since he had been out of training for so long and they were hoping to get him a stallion deal, I think it would be a longer process than a horse that had been off for a few months.

The thing is, imo, his owner could have gotten him a stallion deal somewhere but apparently refused to settle for less than he thought the horse was worth. Real question though, has anyone seen him up close? Is there like something GLARINGLY wrong that would make farms not want to stand him? Or is it just the owner's thinking the horse should be worth more than he is?

He looks fine in this pic, whether he walks fine is another thing. But in this article from last May, the owner says there was interest in standing him but not the right offer. Bringing this horse back at 5 to race in turf races isn't going to raise what the horse is worth. He f-d up in not taking the best offer that was made. If interested parties looked at the horse (from US and Japan) and no one wanted to pay more, then the horse isn't worth more.

"ankle issues" whatever that means. it was why he was put on the shelf after the Belmont and why he was retired.
