What did I miss? Why is he gone from Oaklawn? One of the best IMO, what happened?
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

"According to Twitter" he tweeted something "deemed inappropriate" (which has since been deleted or I didn't see, I didn't put much time into it) and they fired him over it. Can't find what he said though.

Damn....he must have really stepped in it, since I think he and Oaklawn were a great fit and they liked him in the job.
I will miss his race calls.

Has he been calling there the past ~2 weeks? Cause someone made a rumor on Twitter that he died in a plane crash on/around February 27th and I'm wondering if he said something to them and Oaklawn deemed it "bad".

There's nothing about this on Bloodhorse or Paulick yet. I'll be interested to see if/when we get an article with any info.

I won’t go in depth describing the tweet but if anyone remembers the Seinfeld episode, “The Contest”, that should give you an idea. In his tweet, Vic was George Costanza and his brother was George’s mother. The described incident occurred several years before the aforementioned TV episode aired.

Wow. I mean why would you post that in today’s hyper- politically correct environment?

Methinks there's an invisible hand at work in this situation.

There’s a reason he’s known as Goof on the Roof.

Suffice it to say he had a hand in his own demise.

They fired him over that??? So someone got offended because it reminded them of a similar experience that happened to them and they didn't like it. I just don't understand how this offends someone, unless he went into EXPLICIT detail or posted a pic of said incident happening. And either way, the people who were offended must not frequent Twitter much cause I've seen way crazier stuff than that.

I’m guessing maybe Oaklawn was looking for an excuse and that fell, ahem, in their laps. He’s been radio silent since then, although he was going to participate in that National Handicapping Competition in Vegas. Maybe he’s conferring with Lester Laderstein, Esquire—of the erstwhile Del Mar Fan Forum fame—to plot his next move.

Disappointed I won't be hearing his calls at Oaklawn anymore; he's one of the best in the business. And all over a silly tweet.

I never watched "Seinfield," so I have no idea what was in Vic's Tweet. :?

I will try to keep it as PG as possible but yeah it is what it is.
The episode is about them trying to see who could last the longest without pleasuring themself. And when George loses, his mom walks in during the deed.

Thanks for the brief synopsis of that scene. Now, I just have to guess what Vic Tweeted.

Curtis said, Vic was retelling a story that happened in his past. Vic = George and Vic's brother = George's mom, same scenario.
