They do, all farms do. Off the top of my head I can think of Desert Party and Destin(was sold before he even had foals of racing age) who were sold to Saudi Arabia. Alpha and Emcee I think were sold to Brazil.

i'm guessing she mentioned Turkey because besides South Korea it's the country WinStar mostly sends their stallions to (i think)?

Turkey has a proven record of accidentally killing stallions by giving them black shots to make them keep covering mares when they lose interest after the first 120.
Wait no nevermind that's WinStar. But yeah definitely keep him away from Turkey.

Destin was sold to Saudi Arabia. Additionally, many stallions are owned in partnerships, so Sequel may not have owned all of Destin, Laoban, etc. and the sale was ultimately an agreement between partners. It's also possible Sequel (or some of the original partners) kept shares in Laoban specifically, because they still occasionally post about his runners on social media and did after he was sold.
When I said "maybe Sequel will think twice" I didn't mean only the farm's owner.

Exactly, almost every stallion is owned by a partnership or syndicate. I've typed the "the farms don't own the stallions, syndicates do" so many times on here that I gave up doing it. The farm will typically have an ownership stake in the stallion and the syndicate votes on all major decisions, from if they sell, down to who is and isn't allowed to buy a share. Like for example it was the syndicate members who pushed the sale of Take Charge Indy to South Korea, not Winstar. Then there was that weird lawsuit from that guy that always sues everyone, because he wanted to buy a share of Kingmambo and the syndicate said no because Kingmambo was pensioned. So he sued because they wouldn't let him buy the share.Mylute wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 7:28 pm Destin was sold to Saudi Arabia. Sequel and the original shareholders did stay in the syndicate when Laoban moved to Winstar. They probably sold part of the shares and restructured the syndicate when he went to Kentucky.

Speaking of Turkey I stumbled across video clips of their stallion showcase days last month
Karacabey stallions: Banknote, Epaulette, Kluger, Super Saver https://youtu.be/OMSeCCs1bYk?t=266
Izmit stallions: Bodemeister, a very chonky Authorized, Victoire Pisa, Klimt, Battleground, Myboycharlie, gorgeous as ever Lion Heart, an interview followed by the star of the show the now-28yo Victory Gallop https://youtu.be/Tq8XIHQPdGg?t=265 Later in the video (32:38 to 39:58 and 58:38 to 1:05:35) there are ads for some TJK and private stallions

I'm still looking for Turkey's stallion register publication. I want to see any pictures of Voodoo Song, Sadler's Joy, and Catapult...

Yeah I hope he can succeed too but he is really up against it. He doesn't have any large crops, his first crop(current 3yos) is his biggest one with 23 foals. From 11 starters, he also has G3pW First Peace. I'm not sure what happened with his 2020 book/2021 foals, he covered 54 mares but only had 20 foals, which is really bad.
