Belgrano won the Janus S. at Gulfstream Park on Christmas Eve!

Nothing Better (Munnings × One True Love) was second. His dam is ½ to G1W Folk Opera.

It feels like I was watching Hard Not To Like race just last year. Can't believe she already has a 2yo runner.

Then you really don't want to know that she has a soon to be 6yo, who has a soon to be 2yo. But I agree with you. This happens a lot. I'll see a mare as the 2nd dam(as would be the case here) and be like when did that happen??? She was just racing.

Faustin did his mom proud, winning easily from off the pace.

I was astounded to look up Hard Not To Like and see she was foaled in 2009, so add me to the club! When I was working I would often think that I had recently seen a legal case relevant to the issue I was working on. I'd think that it was 6 months ago or so. . . and it would be 3 years.

I once read an explanation of the phenomenon that on an active vacation, after 10 days, day 1 seems years ago, but in the work year context as above, you think things were more recent than they are. It was something like that when you are doing interesting things and forming new memories, your brain strings get stretched out because there's lots of stuff on them, so the start of the brain string seems farther away. But when every day is the same, that brain string remains short because there's not much on it so the start seems much closer.

Or something like that.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

You can add me to the list, but only because I confused her with Hard Not to Love.

Froshado (Frosted/Ashado) broke her maiden at first asking today at Tampa. I know many of us enjoyed watching her on Foal Patrol.

I'm really confused--not a first....... but! Are you mixing her up with Hard Not To Love, the one-eyed mare that Sheriffs trained? I'm pretty sure Hard Not To Love did race into last year and was a foal 2016 or thereabouts?

At any rate, this reminds me a few years ago Kurt Hoover was going on and on about the fact that the nice filly Off the Tracks was out of Havre de Grace--the 2011 HOTY. In reality Off the Tracks was out of Harve de Grace the dam of Concord Point. I'm pretty sure Off the Tracks won that day so no harm done if some one bet her using Hoover's malaprop as a basis. Whatever works, I bet a horse by accident once and it came in at 13-1. I kept the money and didn't lose sleep. ;)

I loved watching her on Foal Patrol and had her in my virtual stable. :)

The 2020 Foal Patrol babies:

Froshado (f. Frosted x Ashado) - won on debut.
African Waters (f. War Front x Vaulcluse) - $1.2 million yearling, has not started.
Spurs Up (c. Dialed In x Emotional Kitten) - sold for $3,500, has started four times, won a maiden claimer.

Magical World's 2020 Gun Runner colt is still unnamed.

Alpine Sky and New Money Honey both lost their foals.

Magical Song got up to about 4th on the backstretch, but then flattened out and I think finished 7th or 8th. The filly doesn't seem to have either her dam's talent or desire to win. :?
