just search the mare in the English version of the studbook, for example Princess Noor:
https://www.studbook.jp/users/en/Honba. ... 1512140650
just swap the "en" in the link by "ja", like this:
https://www.studbook.jp/users/ja/Honba. ... 1512140650
it will lead you to their japanese page.

De la même façon, by swapping the "en" in the link by "ja", you may reach to Japanese stallion's individual page in the Japanese Studbook Japanese version!! ;)
Only Japanese version provides with covering records of the stallions in the Japanese Studbook.

That’s an interesting question!

Teruya Yoshida (''Shadai Farm' as breeder, ''Teruya Yoshida'' ''Shadai Race Horse'' as owner) calls many jockeys.
But I think that his top 3 ''go to'' jockeys as of today are Yuga Kawada, Takeshi Yokoyama and Christophe Lemaire.

The links below must be helpful to see their relationship.

Katsumi Yoshida (''Northern Farm as breeder, ''Sunday Racing'' ''Carrot Club'' ''Silk Racing'' as owner) tends to call Christophe Lemaire first.
If Lemaire isn't available, he goes to Yuga Kawada, Keita Tosaki, Takeshi Yokoyama, Yuichi Fukunaga and so on.

The relationship between the trainer and the jockey is also a very important factor for who gets the mount of the horse, like in the US and in Europe.

Japan's jump legend Oju Chosan(JPN)(Stay Gold), 11yo, will be retired to be a stallion at Bando Bokujo (Farm) in Hokkaido after his swansong in the Jump-G1 Nakayama Daishogai on Dec 24th 2022.
He will have his retirement ceremony at Nakayama on that day!

It looks like a leg cooling system because there appears to be visible water on the near leg. I've never seen that before though.

Yay! I'm so glad they found him a place at stud, was worried he'd be consigned to use as a riding school horse lol. He's such an asset to the breed as a steeplechasing stallion and I love his pedigree with Hail to Reason on both sides. Hopefully some of his babies will make it to the European sales, would love to see one conquer Cheltenham or Aintree :D .

How many horses in Japan are bred specifically with jumps racing in mind? I assume (perhaps wrongly) that most of the jumps horses there transitioned from flat racing but would Oju Chosan attract mares from breeders intending to produce a chaser like him?

Looks like they are cold hosing his legs but have it rigged up so that someone doesn't have to stand there holding the hose while he's on the crossties. Actually a pretty nifty idea.

I found a Youtube video from a company that makes a system but it looks like there might be many manufacturers of similar products.

(Forgive me if this has already been covered), but.......

On 12/3/22: Silver Sonic, making his first start since his poor imitation of human Olympic high-jumping in the Tenno Sho Spring, won the GII Stayers stakes. His record now stands at 20/5-3-6.

I think that almost all of thoroughbreds in Japan are bred with flat racing in mind (personally I've never heard of any thoroughbred who is bred solely for jump racing actually in Japan).
And there's no stallion in Japan who is specialized for jump racing.
Such major flat sires with stamina influence as Stay Gold, Deep Impact, Heart's Cry, King Kamehameha, Rulership etc. could be good jump sires as well.
But I will not be surprised if some breeders bring broodmares to Oju Chosan dreaming of a jump star like him in the future even if he may also sire some credible stayers on flat. ;)

His victory was very popular!!! 8-) :D

Silver Sonic(JPN), 2016H. Orfevre(JPN) x Air Thule(JPN) by Tony Bin(IRE), won the G2 Stayers Stakes 3600m turf marathon at Nakayama on Dec 3rd 2022 in his first start after the G1 Tenno Sho Spring in May.

That was a terrible scene...which amazingly turned out so well. :o
You would think he had seriously hurt himself because he laid flat on his side for so long. I suspect the fall knocked the wind out of him and, as he recovered, he decided to stay down to rest. He did run hard for the whole distance of the race, so he was probably tired, as well as sore.

Thank you so much. Yes, the jockey/trainer relationships are important, so I'm trying to learn more, and you answered my question in depth and perfectly for what I was looiing for.

I remember watching that race and just as I thought to myself 'Wow, Silver Sonic is a smart horse, he stayed out of trouble without a jockey for two miles.' And then he hit that fence. I was sure I had just watched him end himself. It looked really bad. And I never expected him to ever get up, much less race and win again.
