I missed a filly in the 4th at Churchill worth watching: Medaglia Forever (MdO x Forever Unbridled [4x G1 winner]). Should be an interesting race.

Vahva (Gun Runner x Holiday Soiree) wins the 4th. Lady Irene got 3rd, outfinishing the filly next to her. Not bad for her first race.

That was a brave win by Confidence Game in the 8th at Churchill. He was headed by Rocket Can (Into Mischief) in the stretch, but he dug in and pushed past RC to win by what looked like a half length.

The 12th at Churchill has an entrant whose pedigree surprised me a bit. Itzos is by Bolt d'Oro...out of Lotta Kim.
I didn't know Rachel's dam was still producing, and I would guess this colt might be her last or next-to-last foal.

It could be but she was bred to MDO this year. She has a yearling filly by Bernardini named Brilliance and didn't have a foal in 2022 to Curlin.

The Cattleya Sho, the first race in the Japanese Road to the Kentucky Derby, was won by Continuar (Drefong - Pan de Ring, by King Kamehameha). Pan de Ring is a 1/2 sister to Almond Eye (probably closer since Almond Eye is by Lord Kanaloa(by King Kamehameha). If all goes well the plan is to go to the Saudi Derby, UAE Derby, and then Kentucky Derby.

2nd was Mirror of Mind (Mind Your Biscuits - Emmy's Smile, by Agnes Tachyon) Emmy's Smile is the grand dam of 2022 UAE Derby(G2) winner, Crown Pride.

Cali (California Chrome x Peppers Pride) just won the 2nd at Remington Park, a 6 1/2-furlong, $7,500 MC for F&M 3, 4 & 5yo.
I wonder if she was claimed.

Julia Shining (Curlin x Dreaming of Julia), the full to Malathaat, just won the Demoiselle at Aqueduct, even though she clearly HATED the muddy track. She was at the rear of the field, and looked like she was trying to leap up away from the mud and kickback. Brought wide (and out of the kickback) around the last turn, she finally put her mind to running and passed the field to win by what looked like a neck.
If she was that good when she hated the going, how good will she be on a good track?

Liguria (f. War Front x Lerici), 2 year old full sister to G1 winner Avenge, won the Jimmy Durante (G3T) at Del Mar over the weekend. The Bloodhorse article on it says she's a half sister to Avenge but she's definitely full.
