No I thought she would foal early since she missed last year but I just went through all her farms foals again and she hasn't foaled yet. Still time but its possible she may have missed again. I'll still keep a eye on the farm since the studbook wont get updated until next year.

Last march, a white standardbred/trotter colt by Six Pack was born at Kentuckiana Farms. He is out of the Italian white mare Via Lattea (by Gruiccione Jet).
https://harnessracingupdate.com/2022/03 ... ntuckiana/
This article about the purchase of Via Lattea says that they wanted to breed her to the white standardbred stallion White Bliss eventually, but he is a standardbred pacer and she is a trotter, so technically would be a mixed breed. This colt is also technically a mixed breed.

a mixed breed? didn't know they considered that when breeding a trotter to a pacer. are there any articles that explain this?Mylute wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 2:09 pm Last march, a white standardbred/trotter colt by Six Pack was born at Kentuckiana Farms. AFAIK, all trotters and pacers are Standardbreds. However, some lines have become specialized in preferring/having greater talent in one gait over the other.
I don't know if the SB breed will eventually split over this, but it hasn't at this time.
IMO I would have bred her to the white stallion...and see which gait the offspring is strongest in and train them in that gait.

Yeah it doesn't really make the foal a mixed breed, they're all Standardbreds. Even now there are are pacers from trotting lines and trotters from pacing lines. There have also been double-gaited horses, some that started racing in one gait and were switched to the other and some that kept going back and forth. The double-gaited world record was set just last year by the pacing-bred Joe Joe Joe https://harnesslink.com/usa/double-gait ... ecord-set/
Breeding pacers and trotters together isn't often done but isn't unheard of. The trotting champion Googoo Gaagaa (Standardbred names...) is by pacing stallion Cam's Rocket out of the trotting mare Kora's Trotter. Googoo Gaagaa is now a stallion himself, he's mostly sired trotters including a Hambletonian winner. He is also ridiculously handsome.
I want him to drive my chariot into battle.

I know there are lots of different "trotter/pacer" breeds (especially in Europe) so I thought that maybe they were considered two different breeds over here.

Pacers have a genetic mutation that predisposes them to use of that gait.
