Wow yet another very impressive winner for big A: thanks Baroque Again- see quote below:
Friendlypersuasion (Arrogate) won the 5th at Keeneland, a 1 1/16-mile MSW on the dirt for 2yo fillies, by at least 8 lengths. Another impressive winner for the late son of UBS.
That hammer-headed grey wasn't the prettiest horse, but he sure could run. And is turning out to be a very good sire, so it is a loss for US breeding that he left us with only three crops.

Great! I've been wondering about him - I nicknamed him early on when he was born and lost track of him. Was worried something had happenedFlanders wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 12:36 pmHe finally had a name submitted with the JC and while its been approved is pending because of the the naming fee.Nenikikamen23 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 8:19 pm Anyone know any updates on the 2019 Arrogate - Luminance colt? I don’t think we have seen the best of his offspring yet. I would expect they will age like fine wine. I do hope one of his sons can carry his name into the breeding shed one day. I really wonder how people would regarded Arrogate had stopped racing after the Dubai World Cup. I wonder if Arrogate was brought up when Flightline’s owners were discussing wether to retire him.

As a fan of Arrogate, I would hate to see his losses be used as justification for retiring unbeaten horses or horses on win streaks. His legacy is great, even if marred by losses at the end. But racing is exactly that, racing. Many greats were defeated, Zenyatta lost her swansong. Citation won his final races, but lost his 3rd, 4th, and 5th to last races. Flightline still had things to prove imo, no matter how obvious his sheer raw talent was. Arrogate's connections gave it a try and I commend them for it - a loss shouldn't make or break a horse's legacy, even though it seems to be the case for many nowadays.Julky wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 4:00 am I don’t think we have seen the best of his offspring yet. Uhhh...Adversity looks pretty shrimpy (and rough) for a now four year old.
