Besten Dank hasn't hit the board in his last 15 starts going back to July of 2020. Isn't it about time to retire the 10yo? Or at least put him in a class of races he could win?
and Happy Hour's in even worse form, he's finished up the field in his last 24 starts from May of 2019, has been nowhere near competitive in any of them. He hasn't earned any money in the last 3 years, why keep racing him?

Besken Dank(JPN) finished in an excellent 4th in the G2 Milers Cup this year at the same course and the distance (off odds 209/1!!!) with only 0.4 second to the winner Soul Rush(JPN) who is now quoted as the 2nd favorite in tomorrow's G1.Miss Woodford wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 7:18 pm Besten Dank hasn't hit the board in his last 15 starts going back to July of 2020. Besken Dank really loves a mile at Hanshin and is likely to set the pace again tomorrow.
I may put a small amount of money on his SHOW ticket!!!
His show is quoted about 50 to 1.

https://paulickreport.com/news/thorough ... nti-score/Churchtown became the fifth individual stakes winner this year for Attfield, who recently enjoyed a memorable Breeders' Cup in tandem with owner-breeder Charles Fipke. There, he posted a runner-up effort from 55-1 shot Shirl's Speight in the Mile (G1) and a third-place finish in the Filly and Mare Turf (G1) with 32-1 Lady Speightspeare. Seasoned bettors may have cashed in on Attfield's previous big-day prowess in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf at 27-1 with Perfect Shirl – the dam of Shirl's Speight.
Attfield said that Lady Speightspeare, a 4-year-old Speightstown chestnut, is slated to start in the $500,000 Pegasus Filly and Mare Turf Invitational (G3) on January 28 at Gulfstream Park.
“That's the aim for her. We just hope it doesn't get too hot. She hates it hot,” Attfield said. “She's doing great. Her and Shirl's Speight are both down here.”
Attfield said an international endeavor could be in the cards for Shirl's Speight.
“They'd like to go to Japan in February with him, but we might do something before that with him if we can. I'll have to talk to Mr. Fipke about that,” Attfield said.

You are welcome!
Sodashi's connections have not yet given any hint about her future plan.
But I guess that she will remain in training next year.
She is only 4 years old now and I don't think she is already over the top.

These posters very popular!!!
But JRA does not sell them to anyone and I don't know why.
We can only appreciate them at JRA Racecourses.
And, yes, #80 Logotype was an excellent one!!!
(as he won the Yasuda Kinen under Hironobu Tanabe)

Tachyon, do you post about breeding and progeny in this topic area or i it more in the breeding topic I should be looking. I've gotten really behind lately due to other obligations. I was and am a huge fan of Le Vent Se Leve (JPN) and I know he should be putting out some progeny soon? Where can I keep track of that? He was injured during the time I was hoping to see him in our TC races he can run on muddy, he can run on fast, he can run on wet, and lovely pedigree to boot. I really want to follow anything he sires........should be seeing some in 2023.

Also can you tell us anything about Shadai Stallion Station, Abira, Hokkaido where he entered stud? I've never been to any breeding operations over there.

That's a shame but really looking forward to it, makes the capping just a bit harder to cap the Japan Cup, and it will be nice to find another champ and kinda a challenging puzzle to undertake. I am not opposed to discovering new champs and horse to root for and follow.
The field for the Arima Kinen has closed already, right? Or not? Only 10 horses. The pools for this will be gigantic right? It's like the Melbourne Cup of Japan.

Yeah, it was a big shame that he couldn’t make it to the TC races in the states.MySaladDays wrote: ↑Thu Nov 24, 2022 7:12 pm Tachyon, do you post about breeding and progeny in this topic area or i it more in the breeding topic I should be looking. JRA Dirt champion & beautifully named Le Vent Se Leve(JPN)(Symboli Kris S) entered stud in 2021 and has been a popular stallion at Shadai Stallion Station.
He covered 223 mares at a fee of JPY 1,500,000 in 2021 and 196 mares at JPY 2,500,000 and his fee for 2023 has been raised to JPY 3,000,000.
I usually post these breeding and progeny information in Japan in Breeding Forum.

It's always nice to see a new star emerge.
And the Japan Cup is the Japan Cup!!
The field for the Arima Kinen has not been closed at all, by the way.
I just posted top ten popular horses from the interim report on the Arima Kinen fan ballot.
The Arima Kinen is known as the world's largest betting race run in December.

Thanks for all your help.
I didn't think your post about Japan Cup was sarcastic, just telling it like it is, that the top favorites and G1 winners got moved over to the other race.
Both wiill be exciting and wonderful, that was all I was saying. I'm a big fan of Japanese horses and JRAs racing product. I also love how they really do the public relations (posters, plushies, etc.) to bring young and new fans into the sport.

Yeah I think that JRA has been trying hard to improve public relations in various ways.
But I wonder if they still have a lot to do especially to improve relations with the overseas fans.
