He looks like he is standing awkwardly first of all. He looks like he’s still growing and filling out.Flanders wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 9:37 pmAgree and 2nd pin firing photo of the day, which is just fantastic..... At least we know why he couldn't race the first half of 2022, even though they said he just needed more time. Somehow I missed that in his races this year, I went and checked and he didn't have it in the Malibu but it was there in every race this year.Miss Woodford wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 9:23 pmHe's, uh, not particularly attractive. I remember seeing a just off-the-track photo of American Pharoah and he was damn near perfect even tucked up but Flightline looks like two different horses spliced together.
Pin firing is not a major blemish! Why do people think it’s such a big deal?
Hell, I had a horse who raced 76 times successfully and retired sound with pin fires on 2 legs.

Its not a blemish on the horse. Its a disgusting practice that shouldn't be allowed. And I guess I'm not the only one that doesn't like it since its being banned by HISA starting with foals born in 2022.Izvestia wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 11:35 amHe looks like he is standing awkwardly first of all. I was a little shocked by the photo of Flightline. He is REALLY unattractive in it.
The body is OK, but his head with its piggy eyes and that awkward neck set do not flatter him. It makes him look like a horse who will end up with that thick neck with the bulge on the underside.
I hope we see a better portrait of him soon. So many expert horse people are impressed by this horse, and I trust they're seeing something impressive when they watch him.

Lanes End posted a video of him on Instagram and he’s beautiful, balanced and glowing. It’s a bad photo.
I’m not supporting pin firing, it’s just not a knock against his soundness. If we’re going to talk cruelty, I mean, horse racing isn’t the kindest horse sport in general.

I feel like there were similar comments about Arrogate when he retired and how unattractive he was from the side. Flightline's gallop was a picture to watch so something had to be working for him. How does Flightline compare to other Tapit's when they retired?

Essential Quality - he's standing a bit too far under himself here but still looks better imoCoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 4:45 pm I feel like there were similar comments about Arrogate when he retired and how unattractive he was from the side. Lani
Frosted was/is stunning
As was Constitution, even without the dapple gray bonus (this photo was tweeted by WinStar on Oct 25 2015 so it is indeed fresh off the track)
It is apparently impossible to find a good post-retirement confo photo of the other big Tapit boys, although I have it on good authority that Cupid was always the prettiest pony around.

Lani is a pretty pony, and kudos to the photographer for managing to get a portrait without his ever-present 'fifth leg.'
I've always felt that Tapit regularly gives us very attractive, balanced offspring. Could Flightline be showing more Indian Charlie in his looks?

There was an article before the BC where Bret Jones from Airdrie (where Indian Charlie stood) and Baffert (trained Indian Charlie) both said Flightline looks a lot like Indian Charlie.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 7:40 pm Lani is a pretty pony, and kudos to the photographer for managing to get a portrait without his ever-present 'fifth leg.'

Youmzain looks like a different horse in that new photo...and it is not an improvement.
He looks fabulous in the older pic.
