It happened as recently as AP Indy..,who’s a legend. The odds of Flightline becoming an Indy at stud aren’t good, but not impossibleRetrospectiv wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 6:10 pmWe all know just how much she looooves Tapit. It's fun to hypothesize what you'd do yourself if you had the money and the mares.
Would I take a $200,000 gamble on an unproven stallion? Maybe for one or two mares but that would be it.
There's not been a recent stallion in the last decades who has entered at a fee like that... and ended up justifying it.
He's already a million dollar yearling and a HOTY... how astronimical are the odds that he completes the triple and also ends up a leading sire off the bat??

That was a 30 years ago (holy cow), and even so...the part in bold is asking about odds that Flightline would become a million dollar yearling, HOY and Leading sire...the “triple”Flanders wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 3:45 amIndy started at 50k.Slewfan2 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 3:28 amIt happened as recently as AP Indy..,who’s a legend. Flightline's first book of mares has been set at around 150, according to Farish, who added that the quality of mares submitted so far has been impressive.

There is talk that Blue Stripe(ARG) will be going to Flightline. (from Chilean source)

I'm pleased to see that Glen Hill spreads their mares around to many different stallions.

Honeysuckle --> Walk In The Park (if she is retired)
They can't seem to make up their mind if she will retire or will race in 2023. But it seems like she is already booked to him and they are leaning more that way.

TDN has started up their 2023 Mating Plans series again, this year starting with Bobby Flay’s broodmare band. Here’s the link:

I’m reading the article right now, and Bobby chose to send a Ghostzapper mare, Potion, to Justify, even though Justify‘s own broodmare sire is Ghostzapper.
Obviously Bobby doesn’t have a problem with the cross, but I’m curious if that’s too close for anyone else’s personal comfort?

to be honest, i wouldn't be surprised if Nashville gets a book in the high 100s or even 200+. will the vast majority be claimers/dam of claimers? yeah. but he'll still receive a few mares from good families such as Super Espresso herself, whose 2nd dam is Courtly Dee. i guess it will be a tough year in the market given the debuts of Flightline & Life is Good, but there will still be people willing to send good mares to a stallion whose ad features... um... a "blazing fast" workout. and even then i wouldn't be surprised if he gets shipped off to Korea when WinSh*t realizes he isn't the second coming of Northern Dancer with his first crop.Mylute wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 6:10 pmWelp, there's one going to Nashville - Super Espresso.KatieK101 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 5:37 pm TDN has started up their 2023 Mating Plans series again, this year starting with Bobby Flay’s broodmare band.
