So happy to hear that Epicenter is doing well post-surgery, and Cody's Wish coming back is great as well. I'm assuming that Elite Power is coming back as well?

Also, sounds like Rich Strike (who ran another career-best figure in the BC) is guaranteed to come back next year regardless of whether or not they accept a stallion offer. To those who said he'd never be worth more than he was after the Derby, especially that guy standing behind me at the Belmont this year... see, continuing to race your horse is good, actually. I hope he has a great season.

Tough break for the breeders that were lining up for him no doubt, will have to be patient and wait a year, maybe longer.

Just saw that Cyberknife may run once or twice more, but will retire to stud for 2023. So they ducked the big race and now are retiring the horse when he's clearly on the improve? So frustrating.

Cigar Mile and/or Pegasus seem the obvious choice? I mean, it still sucks that he is retiring, but I’ll take two more races. Besides avoiding Flightline and the Classic, which I can’t entirely blame them for, Cyberknife’s connections have danced a lot of dances this year. He’s already started 9 times but clearly thrives off of work.

Spendthrift needs another line to overbreed. filling the market with Into Mischiefs and his descendants isn't enough! Gun Runner is obviously a boom sire right now so they'll be getting plenty of paychecks abusing the lack of the cap they were angry at

Domestic Spending continues to do well. He is comfortable, bright, and has a great appetite. We are optimistic to release him next week to our local farm where we are committed to provide him with a pampered life in beautiful pastures.

i didn't think sky mesa was doing very well at stud. since my mum has a big soft spot for him, i'm glad to hear i just havent been paying attention (not being passive-aggressive, i genuinely tend to overlook things like this, lol.) had to ask flanders abt candy ride as a sire of sires just recently)

Sky Mesa's first foals were weanlings when Tapit entered stud. Suki was saying Keen Ice isn't a sire of sires (which i mean... he can't even be a sire of sires yet). while perhaps Sky Mesa's first crop might have been good, you couldn't have considered Pulpit to be a sire of sires because of him back when Tapit first retired.

Sky Mesa is no Tapit, but he’s sired many good horses and is under-rated. I bring him up because someone mentioned that before Tapit, Pulpit wasn’t considered a sire of sires.

Check out his stallion page. Sky Mesa is a good sire. He’s just not the next hot thing.

I tend to agree, though, with the underlying position that Keen Ice is unlikely to be much of a sire of sires--or much of a sire, period. He's listed at $7500, which suggests that breeders aren't terribly impressed by his status as the sire of a KD winner. The lack of speed in both sire and son is a commercial turnoff. The Pulpit line had speed.
