I feel like I jinxed him by saying he'd be fine :( Really hard to imagine that these connections would run him if he wasn't 110%, but clearly a terrible look.

Sounds like at least it wasn't a compound fracture per the vet, and he's being vanned back, but can only cross our fingers.

He was loaded into the van but it sounds like he's at least able to stand, which is a good sign.

Hind leg injury for Domestic Spending, they didn't give much more than that. He is on the ambulance though.

He pulled up and is lame in his back left my guessing is he either tore something or broke something. Is that the leg he was injured on before

On call vet said there was "obvious instability" in the left hind.

i am sick about domestic spending - i truly hope this horse is ok - but honestly, i kept wondering the same thing this week - why is he here? bad post - been out such a long time - but my gosh i hope the animal is ok.

There was no reason for him to be there

He actually said no obvious instability. Hind left, walked onto the ambulance but very lame.

I saw somebody on Twitter suggest that he might have clipped heels, but I'm not going to watch it to find out.

I was watching closely when he started to drop back and it more or less looked like he just slowed down. I didn't see any thrashing or weird steps. That was just what I saw though.

Modern Games is such a cool horse, I've loved him since he was a two-year-old. I was rooting for Regal Glory (Animal Kingdom!) but if not her, then I'm pleased with the outcome.

The Distaff is in 30! Who y'all got? :D

Left hind leg injury, from the on-track vet.
Modern Games is very good, but my reaction is kind of 'meh.' Partly because he's owned by Godolphin, whose owner is apparently a horrible father and husband. And partly because he's a gelding, which takes away some of my enjoyment of watching a horse run. I like to follow horses, and then see how their offspring run. When you've followed racing as long as I have, being able to observe generations is a big part of the pleasure.
I like the trainer and jockey, but it's sometimes very hard to root for Godolphin.

Dr. Ruggles on the NBC telecast says the horse had a LH injury with no obvious instability but too early to say more. We'll keep you updated.

Thanks. Hate it when captions/subtitles gets it wrong.
