Glad they squeaked this one onto the network, because that's pretty much as good as it gets in this sport. I wonder if they try this horse at some big 9f races next year? That was a great effort.
Gunite honest as they come, like always. This was too far for him and it was a tough pace, but he ran every step of the way.

i'm preeeeetty sure (but not 100%) that he retires next year.Tessablue wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 1:19 pm Glad they squeaked this one onto the network, because that's pretty much as good as it gets in this sport. I wonder if they try this horse at some big 9f races next year? That was a great effort.

Life is Good, definitely. I think whoever wins the Classic gets HOTY, unless it's Happy Saver or Hot Rod Charlie. Those conversations could get pretty spicy...
If a 3yo wins, I think it goes to whomever wins the speed duel. Flightline obviously going in with a lot of support, but he does have one fewer G1 win than Life is Good this year.
Oof I hope not, he's just getting good!

I love when a horse runs gets right up alongside the front-runner in the stretch and then pushes ahead by sheer force of will. Cody's Wish sized up Cyberknife and found another gear.
What a handsome colt too. Curlin couldn't sire an ugly horse if he tried.

You can make a compelling argument that the starter screwed Golden Pal over. He had a hand on the horse a bit too long at the start and from the head-on TVG showed afterwards, he definitely knew it.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 1:04 pm Golden Pal has now had two very slow/inattentive breaks from the gate with Irad aboard...in his two most important races. If GP weren't being retired, I wonder if he would be getting a new jockey?

Tuesday is a wonderful filly, to come from behind and still get past the flying In Italian, who did NOT slow down. She set a record?

Donna should borrow Lava Man for these post-race interviews, her poor pony can't keep up
1 3/16m isn't a commonly run distance at Keeneland but still a very nice time.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 1:56 pm Tuesday is a wonderful filly, to come from behind and still get past the flying In Italian, who did NOT slow down. She set a record?

I think he added "....at Keeneland!" at the end lol. F&M Turf changes distance so often, there's no real record for it.CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 1:57 pmThe announcer said she set a new record but I dunno what recordBaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 1:56 pm Tuesday is a wonderful filly, to come from behind and still get past the flying In Italian, who did NOT slow down. "American yeehaw racing" is the best descriptor for dirt sprints.
