But what about Domestic Spending? He hasn't raced since August 14th, 2021 and is entered in the Mile. I feel bad for horses put in these kind of situations. Hopefully all goes well and maybe he can pull off a Da Hoss.
It's just my not very humble opinion, but running Domestic Spending in the Mile is foolhardy at best. The Mile may be a shorter distance but fewer furlongs doesn't = easier.

If his connections weren't Brown and Klaravich, the BC Committee would've laughed them out of the room, and outside observers would be screaming animal abuse.

Um, what? He's a 3x G1 winner, and it really isn't that weird to run in the BC off a layoff, particularly in the Mile. Without Parole finished third in the race off a 6-month layoff for Brown just a few years ago. Badge of Silver finished third off a 10-month layoff. Da Hoss is an obvious one, and Animal Kingdom should have won the race in his year- he was coming off a 9-month layoff and had run exactly once in 21 months.

He had a fantastic work this morning, and last year people thought 12f might even be too far for him. He'll be fine, he's not keeping out any titans, and it would have been bizarre if the committee blocked what could actually be the best horse in the race from entering. Bet against him if you want, but there's no reason to attack connections who have essentially zero history of misplacing their horses.

As I stated, it's my not humble opinion. ;)
If I'm wrong, I'll be the first person to say so.

None of the aforementioned horses were coming off 16 month layoffs. Furthermore, placing a horse well in one race is one thing, planning for its long-term success or health is quite another. Early Voting was well-placed in the Preakness...and was retired after two subsequent dismal efforts.

Early Voting isn’t a great comparison. The horse will never be better than his Preakness win, connections are probably aware.

per her trainer just now on fanduel, Letruska is out of the BC - didn't give anything specific as to the exact reason why - but said she needs 60 days off(?) - did not say she is retired - but she is not running in the BC.

Poor dear needs to retire. At least she is getting the break she needs hopefully at a farm.

The only closest thing to a certainty would be Flightline, at this point. The Distaff, Turf, Sprint, Turf Sprint, Mile, etc are all pretty competitive. No one single standout superstar, but 2-3 incredibly nice horses in each. It’s pretty exciting!

Sounds like Chad Brown just being a knob, especially after this Twitter fight with Ray Paulick just days ago over a previous vet scratch and how he reacted.

That's too bad....IMHO the chestnut colt had a good chance in the Sprint.

That's not surprising. Pay attention to him walking to the track and jogging before his works. Oye. Once he gets motoring, he looks a lot better, but watching him before a workout can make your back/hips hurt. He doesn't look very good after the work either, very tight in back.

We had a horse come in that jogged like that. He was body sore as hell. Gave him time off then had to literally teach him how to jog again. It was torture forcing yourself to post when he tried to Tranter but it was worth it in the end. Horse ended up with the most gorgeous trot and when we sent him to the track I ended up going on the track behind him one day on another horse and it was beautiful to watch him jog without pain.

Where can I find full race entries with ML odds? Checked BC site but did not yet have odds listed. Need for the contest pools I am working on with Tessa. Thanks!
