The juxtaposition of Order of St George's and Drain the Clock's photos is kind of funny. OoSG has the neck of a war horse, while DtC has the ewe-neck of a skinny gelding.
I hope he fills out a little as he 'lets down,' since that look is not very attractive.

He earned that neck being from Coolmore`s NH roster. Numbers for 2022 haven't been released yet but he covered 275, 250 and 312 mares in his first 3 seasons which is insane. Especially if he had to jump them more than once.

[insert joke about NH stallion and "jumping" here]
His poor hocks though 300+ matings in a single northern hemisphere season seems downright inhumane. I mean idk if the stallion himself protests but that can't be good for his legs or his fertility.

Seeing the "imposing physical" on Drain the Clock's Gainesway stallion ad amused me. Bit of an ugly duckling in that photoBaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 2:59 pm The juxtaposition of Order of St George's and Drain the Clock's photos is kind of funny. That was my first thought too. If he’s covering 250+ mares over a season that typically runs longer than the Northern Hemisphere flat breeding season, then that neck and crest are being put to work a helluva lot.

They don't release a free report of mares bred but news sources always highlight the highest for both flat and national hunt.brunanas wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 6:49 pmdamn, what?? where did you get these stats? crazy and slightly inhumane if you ask me...

I know this thread is usually for stallion conformation, but I couldn't help myself.
This yearling in the Fasig Tipton October Yearling Sale is kinda odd looking. Post-legged in the rear legs, slightly over at the knees with her forelimbs a bit in front of her, and such a long skinny head.
As soon as I saw her I immediately thought of those old paintings of animals with tiny heads and giant rear ends

Oh shoot I meant to include that, she's hip 1580, Upstart X Royal Rhiannon X Broken Vow. Dam is 1/2 to West Coast, 2nd dam is Caressing. So actually a pretty nice family. West Coast is by Flatter, Upstart is by Flatter, so this filly is very similarly bred to West Coast.

Its crazy how much a horse can look different in different photos. I was looking at a National Hunt stallion brochure (its a pdf) and there are photos for quite a few stallions. Some of the photos are great, some are eh.
But one in particular stuck out to me. Scalo on page 53.

I then went looking for other photos of him. He doesn't even look like the same horse as his conformation photo on Yorton's site. He does look much more like the still image from the beginning of the 3rd video. I guess cause he is very relaxed in the photo in the pdf and looks cracked out in his conformation photo on Yorton's site.

I'm pretty confident that if I was shown those 2 pictures separately without knowing it was the same horse, I wouldn't ever guess it.
