Hit it a Bomb moved (new standing place still TBA), that's what frequent "small" books get you at Spendthrift. don't really understand the drop in Authentic's fee, as far as i know his I/F broodmares are still selling well and he has some nice weanlings entered in the November sales. his book size didn't change much either (229 in 2021, 202 in 2022), not out of the norm for a stallion's 2nd year at stud.

Any of the now $5,000 studs at Spendthrift will probably not be there much longer with the way that Spendthrift cycles through stallions. Also, Authentic dropped because its his 3rd year at stud and I guess its harder for 3rd year studs to get as many mares due to not having any racing-age babies or the newness of being freshly retired.

i think the only $5,000 stallion with no chance of moving is Temple City because of the "sentimental" value. all others will probably be gone soon.

Its all based on yearling sales for Constitution. His average in 2022 was $253,967.

I don't know if a horse has ever retired with a stud fee of 100k+ that didn't win a Triple Crown race or the BCC. I can't think of one anyway.

it says subject to change, so i wonder if he does really bad in the BCC it goes down. doubt it anyways. i'm more curious about CG now, i believe they had said he was retiring after this year? but maybe his form isn't as "pleasant" as they expected following his return from Dubai.

I've been trying to come up with a list of horses that were even retired to a stud fee of 100k+. Its pretty rare, obviously the 2 Triple Crown winners. Before that I can only come up with Ghostzapper in 2006, Smarty Jones in 2005, Empire Maker in 2004, Point Given in 2002, and Fusaichi Pegasus in 2001. The only one I can come up with in the 90s was, I *think* Easy Goer started at 100k in 1991. Before that, no clue. Obviously I might be forgetting someone. I almost forgot to put Empire Maker on the list.
