Apparently Letruska's little brother by Arrogate, Prudencio, broke his maiden this past weekend when stretched out.

Confidence Game (Candy Ride x Eblouissante) just finished a hard-fought 2nd in the 7th at Keeneland, a 1 1/16-mile AOC ($100,000) for 2yos on the dirt. This is an improved result from his last race, and encouraging to see that he will fight to get his head in front of the horse next to him.
It was won by Forbidden Secret (Outwork), by open lengths.

The upcoming 8th at Keeneland, a 1-mile Allowance for 3yo+up on the grass, has Rhetoric (Quality Road x Hard Not To Like). This is his first chance to run on the turf, a surface that his G1-winning dam sure liked. :D

He finished 5th. The winner was Bay Street Money (Street Sense), whose dam is G1W Collect the Cash. That also makes him 1/2 to G1W Stately Victor.

Gina Romantica, half to G1W Gift Box and MGSWs Special Forces and Stonetastic, wins the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes.

Her win adds dam Special Me to the elite list of mares who have produced more than one G1W.

Julia Shining (Curlin x Dreaming of Julia) just won the 6th at Keeneland, a 7-furlong MSW for 2yo fillies, in such impressive fashion that the TVG analysts were falling all over themselves trying to find adjectives. After a not-wonderful start, she made a move up the backstretch to pass most of the field, and then zoomed by the rest coming around the last turn five wide.
Yeah, the full sister to Malathaat looked really good. 8-)

1:29.43 for 7f, though…. Or is the track at Keeneland slow today?

Its another of those "about 7 furlong" races. Not really sure what the actual distance is. Extra Anejo ran the same distance in 1:27.17 on Thursday and got a 92 beyer. The dirt times that I looked at (not a lot) have been slow all meet.

Wow! She wasn’t even in the picture for the first half of the race when climbing from kickback, but boy once she got outside what a move! Very green but what a big motor. Looked like she shied a bit on the gallop out too- good for Luis to hang on. Second horse Positano Sunset ran well too after having to alter course mid-stretch when winner came over and lugging in while running greenly through the stretch. Both ones to watch next time.
