In the 2nd at Aqueduct, a 6-furlong MSW for 3yo+up, Rocket's Red Glare finished second, but then broke down as he was being pulled up. I did not see the incident, but the on-track Day at the Races crew relayed the sad news that he was fatally injured and euthanized on track.

I saw the incident, but missed the reported outcome, so thank you for that. Although after seeing that 'bad-news bobble' I sort of knew.......

It sometimes seems like the gallop out/pull up after a race is one of the most dangerous times for a racehorse. Tired, maybe losing focus, they can stumble...and when they try to catch their balance, extra weight thrown on one of their legs can cause an injury. Like what happened to the late Eight Belles. :(

He apparently had an open fracture that occurred past the wire.
I wanna do bad things with you.

Did you mean ALBERTUS Maximus?
Y'know, it's not that hard to look up the correct spelling for names. If you actually want to honor a horse, maybe you could spell their names correctly?
ETA: Isn't he one of the pensioned stallions that Shadwell discarded...I mean, kindly donated to Old Friends? :?

Longtime Meadowlands TV Host Dave Brower Passes At Age 53
Dave Brower, the longtime lead TV host, morning-line oddsmaker and program analyst at The Meadowlands, passed away unexpectedly Thursday night while away on assignment at The Red Mile. He was 53.
Brower, who recently completed a week-long stint doing TV at the Delaware (OH) Fairgrounds for the Little Brown Jug, was preparing for a huge weekend of racing at Lexington but was found unresponsive in his hotel room after no one had heard from him Friday morning.

I remember Brower, who spent some time on TVG as a harness racing analyst, along with Gary Siebel. :(

A few days ago you called chromies "subhuman idiots."

Based on your posting history, I must say that's a strong case of the pot calling the kettle black. :D

Wow, I can't believe he was that old. It doesn't seem that long ago.
