The English one always changes channel, so you have to check all three sometimes.

I recorded a few early morning hours on TVG to be able to watch the Middle Park and Blackbeard. However, the British coverage never showed the field going to post, or circling behind the gate when Blackbeard usually acts up. I only got to see the front of the gate as they finished loading, and the graphics bar covered most of the view until right before the field was away.
If Blackbeard had any antics pre-race (which he won), we never got to see it. It's as though the British TV powers-that-be wanted to make sure that, if Blackbeard was really naughty, no one would witness it.
ETA: Just read the RacingPost article on the race, and apparently Blackbeard was bad enough to unseat Ryan Moore before the gate load. There is a photo with the article showing Moore giving the colt the most hilarious 'what the h---, dude' look in the winners' circle.

Oh he acted up though not as bad as last time. If he ever doesn't act up that means he won't run well

Have to hand it to him - pretty impressive 8 starts on this 2yr old already.
That's more than the average graded stakes winning colt retires with now in the US and calls it a career.

***Blackbeard now likely for Breeders’ Cup

After suggesting Blackbeard had raced for the last time at age 2 following the colt’s Saturday win in the Group 1 Middle Park at Newmarket in England, connections changed course Sunday, saying that a trip to the Breeders’ Cup in November now is likely.

Blackbeard already has raced nine times in 2022 but looked as good as ever adding the six-furlong Middle Park to his victory in the Group 1 Prix Morny, another six-furlong dash. Trainer Aidan O’Brien said after the Middle Park that Blackbeard likely was a five- or six-furlong horse, which would make the BC Juvenile Turf Sprint a more appealing option than the 1 1/16-mile Juvenile Turf.

This horse should have started on turf to begin with. Beautiful animal, too.

With Kemari out with a setback, it looks like Rebel's Romance is Godolphin's leading hope for the BC turf this year. He's been a revelation lately, though he hasn't had much action on a tight turning track... unless you count the dirt at Meydan.

That makes me VERY happy! I was getting indigestion every time I saw his next possible start mentioned, worrying that it was going to be one start too many......

We'll just have to hope that in a few years his stripey-faced babies will be showing their own fleet feet.
