I'm just guessing, I have no idea. I think they may just see that a lot, many even most, of the traffic their site gets is to use that tool and they don't want that? I don't go to their site for much else.

my question was more like, in case you're correct, have they ever explained (in the past) why they don't want people using the tool to check for breedings? like what's wrong with doing that?

No. I've never seen that page mentioned except by people who want to check breedings. The only reasons I can think of are, 1) that it brings a lot of traffic to the site for specifically that and maybe it pushes the bandwidth too high 2) the JC doesn't like that people aren't paying for the info and are getting it for free or 3) its just some error that needs fixed. Those are the only things that would make sense to me.

I was able to check a mare for 2022 foal. Thinking you both are blocked/restricted. I got this warning after my results returned for 1 mare.

This tool should only be used to verify if a horse was nominated to the Breeders' Cup as a foal or racehorse.

This tool may be not be used to look up a report of mares bred or to search on a future year of birth. Any attempt to do so will return no data and multiple attempts could result in restrictions or blocking.

the only other way to get the information, unless connections say the mare was bred to X stallion, is pay the JC via equineline to see it. Maybe they figured this out.

the Breeders Cup site hasn't blocked me yet! For those curious, Georgie's Angel was reportedly not bred for a 2023 foal but she did foal a full brother to Cave Rock in 2021, and a yearling filly by Improbable this year.

i think they removed the 2023 reports. i was trying to check some and always got nothing so i checked mares i knew had been bred but they also showed up blank
