Hronis Racing bought a Catalina Cruiser/Thatcher colt for $300K. He is ½ to Our Super Freak, who won or placed in 14 stakes.

Colt ½ to Olympiad by American Pharoah goes for $340K.

Like hip 147, the Curlin X Baffled filly. Yeah her conformation isn't great, but she has some really strong residual broodmare value. But hey, what do I know.
A good rule of thumb is that the siblings of big horses or the offspring of them will probably sell better if they are fillies.

The ½ to Golden Pal probably would've gone for more if it was a filly, and Chrome's half sibling would be in an earlier book for the same reason.

I second this. I would think it's easier to take a risk on fillies because even if they never step foot on the track, they can still be successful broodmares.

Interesting there was a horse being “ reofferred” - does that mean the original bidder changed their mind?

I thought that when a horse is reoffered, it's because there was an issue with the bidding process and so everyone gets a second chance.

I think it can be both that and the winning bidder doing a runner. The latter doesn't happen too often. Occasionally someone will bid without first having established credit, which also causes problems.

I was thinking it must be challenging to keep track of all the bids in the room, plus the internet bids. Kudos to the bid spotters and auctioneer for keeping up with everything, especially when some of those bids are really subtle. And how about the Coach with new deep pockets owners getting all these expensive yearlings? Just hope he doesn’t run them all into the ground so he can get attention or just to keep himself busy. I see Naughty Gal returning in the Pocahontas Sat after 2 weeks rest after a ninth place finish last time at SAR .

Australian trainer Cairon Maher bought the awkward Curlin/Bounding filly.

I'm glad the Bounding filly is headed somewhere that appreciates her pedigree, and to someone who may be able to tap potential that dirt-track trainers might not.

I had read some good things about this one, but there aren't any photos or videos in the catalog for her.

This one sold for $500,000 to Three Amigos. IIRC, that's Pegram, Watson and Weitman.
