A couple friends worked with Meghan for years on Suits, apparently she was a consummate professional and absolute pleasure to work with. It does look like the tabloids have done their job to make sure people don’t like her though. Both William and Charles have openly cheated on their wives, so yes they’re natural born leaders and ideal candidates for King I guess.
It’s pretty common knowledge how the Royal family treated Diana in life, and almost as importantly, in death. If I had lived a life in the public eye, forced into the same mould and routine that had caused so much pain to the mother you had to grow up without…. And someone came along who you loved and offered you an out from the system that clearly made you miserable…. Wouldnt you consider it?
He was already bumped to 4th in line for the Crown at that time, what else does he owe The Empire?
It’s just strange to see such hardened opinions on a B list actress turned Duchess. Like, if she was a politician or Oscar winner or famous writer or something, I guess I’d get it. That being said, I’m not much of a royal watcher. I did meet Camilla at the Royal Winter Fair a couple years ago though. She came up to me with her entourage in the warm up ring while I was getting ready to show my sister’s horse… spoke to me for like 5 minutes, asked me about the horse, myself, etc. she was really nice.

Thanks for your reasonable viewpoint, NP.
Kind of funny that someone thinks I'M snarky...while they call someone they've never met a "horrible person."
If you want "horrible," maybe try checking out some of British tabloid headlines that treated Meghan like a bone to be chewed on.

Diana is way too touchy a subject to get into, but she was my no means a saint…I won’t even touch your comment about William. Yes, I think they will make excellent kings, so we’ll have to disagree.Northport wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 7:37 pm A couple friends worked with Meghan for years on Suits, apparently she was a consummate professional and absolute pleasure to work with. You say you’re not a Royal watcher and yet you’re so sure that the BRF has done Diana, etc.. wrong? I’ll just say that there’s a lot more that you don’t know.
I liked MM originally when she married H, but you’d have to follow the BRF to understand why I loathe her now, and why she is despised in the UK.

Twenty-one years ago today, many people lost their lives and though they lacked celebrity or royal heritage, they were important nonetheless.
Since I was too young to comprehend JFK, the celebrity death to have the biggest impact during my lifetime was John Lennon and it’s not even close. I wonder what his opinion of Meghan would be were he still here? I’m guessing he’d applaud her. Give peace a chance.
