I was just saying that I wished more international horses would enter races in Japan.

Not truly surprising since McPeek is rather sporting and has done this before. He ran a few horses in the South Korean BC a few years ago.

Isn't the Sapporo Kinen with Sodashi and Hayayakko this weekend?

Yay!!

Hard Buck(BRZ), the 2004 King George runner-up, came to my mind!!

If McPeek-san sends Classic Causeway(USA) to Japan, I think that the G2 Kobe Shimbun Hai (for 3yo, 2200m turf at Chukyo, Sep 25th) is an excellent choice for his first start in Japan.
The Kobe Shimbun Hai is basically a trial race for the G1 Kikuka Sho (for 3yo, 3000m turf at Hanshin, Oct 23rd). But he can eye the G1 Japan Cup (for 3yo&up. 2400m turf at Tokyo, Nov 27th), too. (he may run both!!)

Also I wonder where Classic Causeway will be quarantined.
Is he going to be the first foreign-based horse to use the new quarantine facility in Tokyo.???
I'm very curious!!!

came across this very cute drawing of Admire Japan and "his" pillow! https://www.instagram.com/p/ChOZ-WYPj6U ... MyMTA2M2Y= i follow loads of japanese horse racing artists. so many talented people!
Thanks for sharing.
I didn't know about her (umano_onanoko's) drawings.
Her latest work is a Taiki Shuttle(USA), a great champion who passed away yesterday.

that's a beautiful tribute. i remember seeing Taiki Shuttle on Twitter just a few days ago
Flower stands and Entry tables for Taiki Shuttle are now placed in the JRA racecourses across the country until Sep 4th.
The son of Devil's Bag will be remembered by racing fans as the best miler of all-time in Japan.
May he rest in peace.

Lowkey hope that Hayayakko wins, because it would absolutely shake the breeding world for there to be a white intact male with genuine stallion value.

I don't think so.
(Unicorn Lion(IRE) is trained by Yoshito Yahagi while his sire No Nay Never(USA) was trained by Wesley Ward)
But I hope that Wesley Ward will race his horses in Japan some day, too, as he does in Europe!! ;)

Well ..JRA does NOT allow live-streaming on the internet, unless formal contracts are made between the two parties.
But I have a few links, which may not be authorized by JRA, come to mind....
I will probably come back to this thread with it by the post time.

TVG usually shows racing from Japan later on Saturday evenings. Hopefully they will show the Sapporo Kinen.

I'd say with his classy pedigree, stakes wins and the success of his family on the racetrack he's already earned it, but yes it would be great to see him get a shot in the US or Europe. How many King Kamehameha sons are even standing outside of Japan? To my knowledge there's just Kluger in Turkey.

Would love to see Sodashi win this and come over for the Breeders Cup Mile :D

I'm beginning to think that TVG isn't showing Japaneses racing tonight. It's already 10:30 PM Pacific time, and earlier races on the Japanese cards would have been shown by this time normally.

Thanks so much!

The presentation of these races really puts American networks to shame.
