Stay Foolish(JPN), the winner of the G2 Dubai Gold Cup and the G3 Red Sea Turf in Saudi Arabia this year, has returned to the Ritto Training Center yesterday.
The 7yo son of Stay Gold(JPN) is slated to leave Narita Airport for France on August 14th to run in the Arc on Oct 2nd with a prep in the Grand Prix de Deauville on August 28th.
He will be ridden by Christian Demuro in the G2 Grand Prix de Deauville and by Christophe Lemaire in the G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Toru Kurita, the trainer of Titleholder(JPN)(Duramente), visited Deauville on Wednesday to check out the infrastructures for the trip to France.
He said, ''Titleholder will soon return to my stable in Miho and resume light trainings. He will go straight to the Arc because his owner thinks it's the best way for the horse. I agree because it is complicated to fix the condition of the horse in France. So he will only arrive in your country around September 19th.''

Also on the Japanese media, Kurita revealed that Titleholder would be stabled at Satoshi Kobayashi (French-licensed trainer) in Chantilly and that he would not have a companion horse.''

Titleholder(JPN), arguably the best Japanese hope for the Arc since Orfevre(JPN), will leave from Narita Airport for France on Sep 18th.
Do Deuce(JPN), the best 3yo currently training in Japan, will be stabled at Pascal Bary in Chantilly.




In the meantime, JRA published the ''JPN Thoroughbred Rankings (Jan 1st to July 31st, 2022)''.
Titleholder is ranked the best older horse, while Do Deuce is the best 3yo.

Admire Japan(JPN), 2003H. Sunday Silence(USA) x Biwa Heidi(JPN) by Caerleon(USA), was a G3 winner & two-time G1 placed (Satuki Sho and Kikuka Sho) on the turf.
As a stallion, he was represented by the 2021 champion juvenile filly Circle of Life(JPN)(by Epiphaneia) as a broodmare sire.
Admire Japan has been pensioned at Versailles Resort Farm, Hokkaido, since his retirement from stud duty in 2018.
It was Versailles Resort Farm that posted a video clip of Admire Japan enjoying YOGIBO's pillow on its twitter account in May having a tie-up with the lifestyle brand company YOGIBO, which made a buzz on the internet.
Now YOGIBO has signed a formal contract with Versailles Resort Farm paying JPY 10,000,000 (about USD 75,000), which is said to be the aggregate sum of the carrots that would be consumed for twelve years at Versailles Resort Farm.

aww look at him having a snooze on his pillow. so. darn. cute. thank you for all your insight as always, i hadn't noticed he was Circle of Life's grandpa! i love the idea behind the partnership, i'm sure it might have even helped attract new fans to racing if it was widespread, besides of course helping shed a light on retirees Japan is amazing with these things as always. would be cute if they made a plushie of him that comes with a little pillow i know i'd sell my soul to buy one if it was ever designed

Things are not that easy, but I believe that this is a wonderful story.
In fact, after the contract with YOGIBO company, they say that a bank agreed to finance Versailles Resort Farm's project of building a new stable /stalls for retired horses. The bank positively evaluated the feasibility of the private institution's activity to support retired horses.

Thanks for posting this Tachyon- a great video. It is not surprising to me that the Japanese are having so much international success lately- the attention to detail and horse and course care is amazing. Notice the immaculate barns and turf course, how they soundproof and air condition the barns, the careful mix of grasses and the constant aeration and irrigation ( compare to CDI course). I could not help but compare to the crumbling paint peeling barns at Saratoga- a huge difference. In my mind they deserve every bit of success and I wish them nothing but more success in future. Well- deserved.

JRA and the horse people in Japan have been trying hard to build a sense of unity between spectators and racing.
But I think that the Japanese racing is still half way down the road in this context, even if the recent trend seems to be encouraging thanks to the horses, everyone’s efforts and racing fans’ strong commitment to the sport.
Japan is a racing nation that strongly believes in the advantages of the globalization.
Spectators here want to see more Japanese-based horses race overseas and, at the same time, more foreign-based horses race in the major races in Japan.
