Nordiste : 1m61, presumed dead (more than 40 yo) - https://infochevaux.ifce.fr/fr/nordiste ... -generales
Blue Moon : no mention of his height, presumed dead (more than 40 yo) - https://infochevaux.ifce.fr/fr/blue-moo ... -generales
La Varende : no mention of his height, presumed dead (more than 40 yo) - https://infochevaux.ifce.fr/fr/la-varen ... -generales
Barneveldt : no mention of his height, presumed dead (more than 40 yo) - https://infochevaux.ifce.fr/fr/barnevel ... -generales
Mehemet Ali : 1m64, presumed dead (more than 40 yo) - https://infochevaux.ifce.fr/fr/mehemet- ... -generales
Armistice : 1m66, presumed dead (more than 40 yo) - https://infochevaux.ifce.fr/fr/armistic ... -generales
The fact that they all are "presumed dead" by the IFCE (the french organization that identifies horses and issues their papers) means that the owners of these horses have never declared their deaths.

hello Cisco
thanks for reply I had check that site - also waiting a reply from another French site the DNA Pedigree. It is surprising how many stallions around the world have died and not been reported. Well known ones. All I wanted was a year as some lines live longer than others.
example of well know stallion Botticelli went to West Germany in 1962 but when he died unknown between 1972 to 1974 is best guess.
You have probably seen some of my posting asking for help in Australia/NZ/Brazil/Argentina and even USA - I would say most have been unanswered because folks do not know the year ... I tracked down Grenfall last week a son of Graustark took alot of email but he lived to 30.
I also got to track down Filiberto owners and try to put my results up on pedigreeonline ... I'll also when I get answer will update my postings on here when I know year of death. Have to say Brazil/Argentina seem to have very little recorded on stallion deaths
Hope you are safe there in France - here another 33c day and have been feeding mares since nothing in the ground - i was lucky enough to get alot of hay in 6 weeks back. But still giving them nuts as well.

Hi Ribot90,
Most of the time indeed the owners/stud farms inform the press of the death of a stallion or henceforth publish it on the social networks, but in general they do not carry out the formalities with the IFCE. This formality is not obligatory so they do not "waste time" with it.
Working at France Galop, I see the same thing when a horse is injured in a race and must be euthanized. My colleagues regularly receive declarations of "provisional exit" from training instead of the owners/trainers making the declaration of death at the IFCE.
Very hot weather in France too. Fortunately, measures are taken for the health of horses and jockeys.

Yes I think we hve the same issue here alot of stallions are not recorded.
The horses are getting alot support with racing in the heat - York starts next week and from mid 30's it should be in mid 20's for York.
Keep cool and have a great weekend
