Thoughts on the Prix Rothschild? Tenebrism or Saffron Beach? Or do you like an outsider like Pearls Galore?

Very good card at Deauville this afternoon.

2 very good fillies taking part in the Prix Rothschild Saffron Beach and Tenbrism.

Saffron Beach is proven over the trip and stays further.

Tenbrism hasnt won over a mile but Deauville is an easy mile.

I just favour Saffron Beach

Saffron Beach makes all to win the group 1 Prix D Rothchild from Tenbrism.

Maxine Guyon wasnt seen at his best on the 3rd Goldistyle should have finished 2nd in my eyes.

Nice to see the Sangsters are involved in the winner

2 more runs and then the Breeders Cup

I'll be interested to see if Saffron Beach ends up going in the Mile versus the boys or the F/M Turf at the Breeders' Cup.

The plan for Saffron Beach if all goes well is the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.

She will be entered for the Breeders Cup Mile but the owners prefer The Breeders Cup Fillies and Mares turf.

Bookies have quoted her 9/1 for the Breeders Cup. F And M

What is the length of the F&M Turf at Keeneland? I presume over 10 furlongs, so would that be two or three turns for the race? With Keeneland's turf course set inside their mile dirt track, horses are going to need to be able to stay balanced and corner well.
Has Saffron Beach ever raced on a course anything like what she'll find in Kentucky this fall? That may make the choice between Mile and F&M Turf, imho.

Good point Baroque

Saffron B has raced 11 times 9 of those have been over the straight courses

6 times at Newmarket. and Once at Ascot and Deauville

Raced 3 times around a bend once at Sandown when winning the Atlanta Stakes once in Meydan and at Epsom in the Oaks where she failed to stay the mile and a half.

Be Intresting

Jane Chapple Hyam told Nick Luck this morning that the 9 1/2f distance isn’t a concern for Saffron Beach, and would rather stick to her own sex than take on males over a mile.

The F&M Turf is only 9 1/2 furlongs? That's even less than than I thought it would be.
Hardly much of a test for the Euro distaffers used to running real middle distance races.

Its a race that's distance changes depending on the track. Its supposed to be 11f but depending on the host track, it has been ran at 9f, 9.5f, 10f and 11f.
