I would guess that these gambling (slots) establishments are making a LOT of money, so seeing some off their profits turned over to maintain horse racing is a good thing, IMHO. IIRC, when gambling destinations cut out the racetrack next door from sharing any monies, the track...and all the owners/trainers/riders...suffer.

True, but there are plenty of these owners, trainers, and riders that believe (and vote) if you can't survive on your own, too bad.

I think some dominant mares are very territorial when it comes to "their" space, earning the orange warning cone outside their stalls. IIRC, Goldikova was notorious for being hazardous to approach when she was in her stall - cranky at home, all business on the track.

Glad to see this. English riders tend to stand up higher in the stirrups and often use that windmill type of whipping from above shoulder height. This should stop that. Wish we had same rules. Hope it us strictly enforced.
