IMHO, if Frankie had just said that he wished the trip on Stadivarius had developed differently, or maybe even humbly blamed himself, this schism might not have happened. But iirc, Dettori said something along the lines that Strad wouldn't have been able to beat the 'younger' horses anyway.
That was something he should never have said. By doing so, he broke a kind of trust between Gosden and himself. You never blame the horse...especially a beloved and brave champion like Strad. If he actually felt that way, he should have discussed it privately with Gosden.
If Frankie doesn't ride for the Gosdens for a while...or forever...he has only himself to blame.

Exactly---Frankie made excuses and did not take ownership of his lousy rideBaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 5:20 pm IMHO, if Frankie had just said that he wished the trip on Stadivarius had developed differently, or maybe even humbly blamed himself, this schism might not have happened. I would just say on the Stradivarius run - it was clear there was no pace in the race so why not put a pace maker in Ballymacoll, Ballydoyle , Juddmonte along with Godolpin have all done in group/grade 1.
So latest news is Frankie will ride at least until end of 2023 season so not retiring

Anybody else see Blackbeard’s antics before the start of the Railway S? I’ve never seen a horse do that before a race.

Westover romped in the Irish Derby. Always happy to see another classic winner for Frankel.

Video of Blackbeard acting up before the start. He’s also done it before his other races.ThreeMustangs wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2022 10:13 am Anybody else see Blackbeard’s antics before the start of the Railway S? I’ve never seen a horse do that before a race.

Blackbeard looks really short, is it just the camera angle?

Well, that was....interesting? Sort of reminds me of Zenyatta's "dancing" before her races, a high-strutting action that her trainer said was because she had so much energy, and 'dancing' helped her express that nervous energy in a controlled manner. Blackbeard looks like he hasn't figured out how to express HIS nervous energy in a 'controlled manner'
Maybe he's trying to be a break dancer?

La Petite Coco won the Pretty Polly (G1) at the Curragh. She hadn’t raced since September.
I really wish the RacingTV announcer would stop referring to these fillies and mares as “he” or “it.”

I hate it when race callers/announcers refer to horses as "IT." The Australian callers are the worst. I don't know if it's because the fields are often large and have both genders racing, so it's too much work to separate the genders. Lazy?
Or maybe Aussies consider horses to be like toasters or bicycles? Just things with no sex?

Confirmations for this Saturday’s Coral Eclipse:
Alenquer
Bay Bridge
Dubai Honour
High Definition
Lord North
Mishriff
Real World
Aikhal
Native Trail
Stone Age
Vadeni
With no clear superstars but a couple horses on the cusp, this could be the best renewal in at least the last 10 years. Hopefully they all stand their ground and no one scratches. I like Real World, Aikhal, and Vadeni.

Hopefully no one attaches Lord North's blindfold (if he has to wear one again) to his bridle so snugly that the jockey can't get it off again.
