Heard a rumor that Strong Mandate is now in Saudi Arabia?

He wasn't at Three Chimneys for 2021. I don't believe it was ever announced where he went but he was exported. Since Saudi Arabia doesn't advertise stallions he could be there. The last time I checked, which was a few weeks ago, they haven't updated their studbook since 2019 so can't check to see if he covered mares there last year.ForTheThrill wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 9:46 am Heard a rumor that Strong Mandate is now in Saudi Arabia?

Declaration of War(USA) sired his first Japanese-made (conceived & foaled in Japan) winner, as his 2yo Lord Defeat(JPN) [o/o Qadisha(JPN) by Daiwa Major(JPN)] broke his maiden at second try in Tokyo 1R 1400m turf on June 18th 2022.
Declaration of War has been standing at JBBA since 2019.

News to me...
"Al Shahania Stud" apparently acquired an interest in Beach Patrol towards the end of his career. It is based in Qatar and they stand racing and show Arabian stallions.

Wow, it really seems like no one wants this guy. Didn't he just get sold weeks ago for peanuts? Or I guess a reserve wasn't achieved or something on Starquine. It's too bad Loveacres won't just geld him and turn him out or try retraining him. Hopefully whoever does buy him will do that.Flanders wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 2:10 pm https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/v ... june-sale/

I think it was reported he sold on Starquine but they must have decided to pull the ad or the sale didn't go through? Because he is being sold by Loveacres still.Northport wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 6:54 amWow, it really seems like no one wants this guy. Didn't he just get sold weeks ago for peanuts? Top Australian sire Not a Single Doubt has died aged 21. He had been pensioned January 2020 due to lung issues.

MGSW Mustanfar (by Unbridled) was euthanized today at Rood and Riddle. He was one of the several stallions moved from Shadwell to Old Friends. Somewhat ironically, he was one of the younger ones at 21.
He stood at both Shadwell and Indiana Stallion Station (a place where a lot of Shadwell castoffs go for some reason).

You hate to see the worry about moving elderly stallions come true.
Wonder if the hot/stormy Midwest weather played a part?

Mustanfar was at Dream Chase Farm, which IIRC is the main Kentucky Farm. I don't think the climate there is that much different than Indiana's, which is above Kentucky.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 8:41 pm You hate to see the worry about moving elderly stallions come true.

The report also says he was at R&R, so there's no telling how long he had been there or why he was initially admitted.
21 is elderly? The others moved were in their late 20s.

Obviously we don't know the details other than a necropsy is pending. But is it possible that the move affected mustanfar in some way that caused his death? I mean we have no details so it's extremely possible his death was due to injury which would be a freak thing. But is it possible he suffered an illness partially brought on by the stress of moving?Mylute wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 7:33 pm MGSW Mustanfar (by Unbridled) was euthanized today at Rood and Riddle. Good.....unless they aren't shuttling because Southern Hemisphere breeders were extremely disappointed in their offspring?

I would say that is probably the case with American Pharoah not shuttling to Australia. He hasn't done very well there. As for Justify, his first foals aren't old enough to race in Australia yet.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 3:17 pm Good.....unless they aren't shuttling because Southern Hemisphere breeders were extremely disappointed in their offspring?
