Alfred Munnings won nicely. Looked like Simpson’s Paradox finished next to last.

We the People crushed by 10 lengths; Western River was 4th (missing 2nd by a nose + neck after stumbling at the start) and Set Sail was 6th. The winner is a grandson of G1W Harmony Lodge by Constitution.
Both We the People and Western River are with Brisset and both are possible for the Belmont Stakes.

The true French connections-so glad to see WTP win big today! Beautiful horse and I love how Rudy B explained how he looks in the horse’s eyes and sees how sensitive he is and how the whole team works with him every day to overcome his issues. Just thrilled for all the connections. Hope he can keep things going no matter where he races next. Prat is riding so so well too!Starine wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 8:17 pmWe the People crushed by 10 lengths; Western River was 4th (missing 2nd by a nose + neck after stumbling at the start) and Set Sail was 6th. From the Iroquois Steeplechase meet at Percy Warner:
Race #2 (maiden hurdle), Proven Innocent (Blame x Meghan's Joy, 1/2 to Ironicus and On Leave) won. Awakened (Curlin x Daydreaming, 1/2 to Imagining) finished 4th behind him. Both Proven Innocent and Awakened were making their second start over hurdles, were sold privately from their initial owner-breeder (Stuart Janney and the Phipps Stable, respectively) after breaking their maiden on the flat last year and transferred from Shug McGaughey to Jack Fisher. Awakened was gelded at some point after the transition to jumps.
The G1 Iroquois Steeplechase itself was won by Snap Decision, another royally bred (Hard Spun x Salute) Jack Fisher trainee who was previously bred and owned by the Phipps and had been trained by Shug McGaughey on the flat until he was sold and gelded and turned into a jumper. Seems to be a winning strategy.

Zarkallani (FR) (Invincible Spirit x Zarkava) is entered in the...first race at Radnor on Saturday, a maiden hurdle Jack Fisher trained, of course.

Well, in order to answer your simple question, I have to try and explain how jumps racing in the US works, or doesn't work. The National Steeplechasing Association runs under, within and around the main racing governing body (NTRA) to sanction specifically racing over fences.
Radnor is in Malvern, Pennsylvania. I think it gets abbreviated to MAL in past performances. It's not a racecourse in the same way that, say, Churchill Downs or Aintree are racecourses. It hosts a single jumps meeting every year.
Long story short, steeplechasing in the US is partly based around "hunt meets" which are held once or twice a year. These are usually but not always separate from the point-to-points that individual hunts hold in early spring. The hunt meets are basically just in big fields with some cones laid out, temporary hurdles and usually a separate permanent timber course, possibly a "real" steeplechase course if they didn't get rid of it in the 1980s (very long story there). They may or may not have wagering available. A few major racetracks still have hurdle races on select days, most notably Saratoga.
Live video of NSA jumps races were nonexistent for years, then got better as more tracks provided free live feeds. Then this year the NSA made the horrible decision of partnering with a streaming service to collect the live feeds and require a fee to watch them. It is ungodly expensive - $10 per meet (which works out to $2-$3 a race). There was a discount for the spring pass but it's still way too much for what you get. Everyone hates it, hopefully NSA will listen to the complaints and go back to just having the live feeds on youtube. If you have money to burn you can watch Radnor live here https://nationalsteeplechase.mandolin.com/
Race results are on the NSA website a few hours after the last race, though you might hear about them sooner on twitter. Race replays are up on the NSA website...eventually (they literally just uploaded the Virginia Gold Cup replay from the 7th). That's https://nationalsteeplechase.com/

Gladys (MdO x Lotta Kim), Rachel's half-sis, just won the 7th at Churchill, a 1 1/16-mile AOC on the turf. Strong win by a filly who seems to have found a home on the grass.

If that breeding's right, Gladys would be a FULL sister to Rachel, is that not so? Not sure now much if really means, but thought I'd point it out!BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 8:00 pm Gladys (MdO x Lotta Kim), Rachel's half-sis, just won the 7th at Churchill, a 1 1/16-mile AOC on the turf. First Captain (Curlin x America [A.P. Indy]) just won the Pimlico Special. I didn't think he had a chance; he was far back and the jock was asking and asking him...but then he lowered his head and charged down the stretch to catch the leader by what looked like a head.

That was a terribly slow pace he closed into (1:14 for 6f)—surprised he was able to rundown Vindictive.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 5:18 pm First Captain (Curlin x America [A.P. Well, Irad tried to make sure First Captain couldn't win, with one of his patented 'gonna shove/herd the competition a half dozen lanes out into the middle of the track' rides.
Those drone views TVG provides are great for seeing where horses are relative to each other...and just how far someone gets pushed out.
