Fifty Stars has an odd look.

I assumed it was a "miner's thumbprint" aka "Prophet's thumbprint".BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 3:11 pm I wonder what the story is behind Boscaccio's hole in his neck.
His owner mentioned that he wants him to stand in California for his 3rd and 4th seasons at stud, then go back to Kentucky for his 5th season... but that begs the question, which Kentucky farm is he standing at for his 1st and 2nd seasons?brunanas wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 1:47 pm Rombauer (Twirling Candy - Cashmere, by Cowboy Cal)

This reminded me I hadn't looked at our boys over there in a while and I saw that 27yo Victory Gallop - who still covers a select book of 30 mares a year - has a new (to me, anyway) conformation photo, and he looks fantastic He looks so good that I'm almost tempted to think this is a photo they uploaded of him as a younger horse, although his previous stallion photos from Turkey all show him with a bit more weight on.
I think Gun Runner might have something to say about that…BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 5:22 pm Rombauer is a nice-looking horse. Will Twirling Candy (who I remember as being really talented, but also a bit cray-cray ) end up being Candy Ride's best son at stud?
Tweet says he's currently at Winstar. Doesn't say if he's staying there.... He's got about the right number of starts with 8 though to be a 3 season Winstar stallion.brunanas wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 6:13 pmidk. but i believe a stud deal has been made given the caption. probably a smaller farm, we should be hearing about it soonNorthport wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 5:11 pmHis owner mentioned that he wants him to stand in California for his 3rd and 4th seasons at stud, then go back to Kentucky for his 5th season... but that begs the question, which Kentucky farm is he standing at for his 1st and 2nd seasons?brunanas wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 1:47 pm Rombauer (Twirling Candy - Cashmere, by Cowboy Cal)

I think they're trying to find a farm to stand him, this was on the TDN todayRetrospectiv wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 7:48 pmTweet says he's currently at Winstar. Doesn't say if he's staying there.... He's got about the right number of starts with 8 though to be a 3 season Winstar stallion.
The fact that they retired him over five months ago and are currently resorting to Twitter TDN ads makes me think that they'll be lucky to find any place for him in Kentucky. Also no bloodstock agent brokering the deal, just the owner's gmail address pasted online for anyone to reach out to... I'm guessing the owner is really holding out for a half decent farm in Kentucky to express interest to get those coveted first two seasons in the bluegrass before moving him to Cali or some other regional market (whether by choice or by eventual and guaranteed lack of interest from commercial breeders).Bold Carma wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 8:08 pmI think they're trying to find a farm to stand him, this was on the TDN todayRetrospectiv wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 7:48 pmTweet says he's currently at Winstar. and they have a bigger reason to dump him given the intention to stand him in Cali in a few years! perfect match.Retrospectiv wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 7:48 pmTweet says he's currently at Winstar.
