They’re both by Smart Strike.

Oh my goodness, she has her own herd of Minis! She is clearly the boss mare...and looks fantastic!
Thanks for the link. 8-)

I remember her and her minis! I wonder if she's the rare TB who gets fat on air and needs to be in a dry lot like the ponies do.

My, she is spry for her age! A testament to her excellent care.

Repose (Quiet American), the dam of treble Group/Grade 1 winner State Of Rest (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}) and Classic-entered Tranquil Lady (Ire) (Australia {GB}), has been bought by Juddmonte Farms.

Good to see they are still actively purchasing breeding stock! I know they aren’t as big as they used to be, but I’m afraid to see them go the way of Shadwell

It would be lovely if Zen could foal a top-class colt or filly, but I suspected from the beginning that she might not.
She is such a freak...17.2 hands and close to 1,200 pounds racing weight, she was even bigger than the males she ran against. She was perfectly proportioned IMHO, but trying to find a mating that would fit with such a physical outlier? The odds were against her ever reproducing herself. :(

This is a fine mess…

Suit Alleges Stakes-Winning Broodmare Prospect is Male

Kept True competed against females in 14 races and won over $300,000.

That sounds like the type of twisted fact pattern a law school professor trots out on an exam. :?

Were the sellers obliged to do a chromozone test on Kept True? Because that was apparently the only way they could tell the horse was XY.
It's a good thing horses don't care about the whole 'are they male, or are they female' stuff that humans stress over. They probably only care that "i don't have a penis, I do have a vagina, so that's probably the way I'll have sex.'

it looks like he had the exterior of a female.
According to the complaint filed by Meuser, Kept True was examined by Crawford's own veterinarian, Dr. Jeremy Whitman, who reported "obvious abnormalities in the horse's reproductive organs," primarily that the horse has no ovaries. Next, a karyotype test report from Texas A&M University revealed a genetic condition that gives Kept True the "appearance of a female horse, but the chromosomes of a male horse."

So my question is were her testosterone levels never tested while racing since she won several stakes? Isn't that one of the things they usually test for? Also, I wonder whether these vet exams where they certifying broodmares as suitable for breeding all include a rectal exam with ultrasound and endocrine testing to see what the hormone levels are - one way or another, I can't see "her's" as being normal.
