66-1 Guineas heroine Billesdon Brook dies suddenly at stud at the age of seven
https://www.racingpost.com/news/latest/ ... ven/555374

She had a colt by Dubawi this year, and was i/f to Kingman at the time of death. She had a severe intestinal blockage.

Your "friend" is a bad person and employee for sharing information about client horses. If the horse's owners wanted the information shared they would have done it.

So....this info could be false? Or it could be accurate, but providing it is a breach of client privacy and shows not a scrap of professional integrity?.

9x winner Harlan Ruler (Poseidon's Warrior) was euthanized recently due to ongoing health issues.

He raced entirely at Camarero and was rescued by the Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare group.

I also really like the picture they used for Flatter.

I can’t quite understand the above sentence, but if it’s true, I care far less about the friend revealing info than about Flatter !

Flatter’s owners are Claiborne - of course they wouldn’t want this known. If I’m understanding this correctly, he injured himself servicing mares ? And Claiborne said it was due to old age? That doesn’t make me feel good about them at all.

Are you going to believe someone who said that their "friend" was angry at someone involved? If he had a non-weight baring leg then its most likely due to the A.P. Indy's being easy keepers. He didn't even look like a thoroughbred in his last conformation shot, he was massively overweight.

I didn’t see his last confirmation shot, but then Indy never looked fat to me, so I doubt I’d have noticed. If he was as overweight as you say, what does that say about Claiborne that they couldn’t keep him in decent shape?

It just sounds like Flatter deserves better

Its not just Claiborne. Its pretty much every US stallion farm. I don't know if Three Chimneys and WinStar still ride their stallions like they used to, but exercise is something a horse needs. Especially a stallion who is usually heavily fed grain.

Also I don't think there is anyway Claiborne would stand a stallion with those issues if they were chronic. Its dangerous not just to the horse but also handlers. If a stallion would fall it could kill someone. If he really had a tendon sheath abscess, then he most likely had sustained a puncture injury recently and bacteria got in. An infected puncture injury are hard to treat. If he was in extreme pain and wasn't responding they probably did the kindest thing and put him down.

I always loved how TC exercised Slew, often with Angel Cordero...it was good for him physically and mentally; I do think all farms should do that.

I know, you’re right - I’m sorry for taking my sadness out on Claiborne, who do love and treat their horses well. I would never want Flatter to suffer, and neither would they. He was a stalwart for them, truly a wonderful sire.

Did Lane's End post something about Linda somewhere? I think it's sweet if they loved her enough to mark her passing.
