"The incident occurred shortly after 8 a.m. ET when Witt was thrown from an unraced 3-year-old, who took a "stutter step" and then fishtailed, throwing Witt over its left shoulder, according to Sharp. Alpha Event Medicine, the track's on-site medical team, immediately attended to her life-threatening injuries. Lexington Fire and Emergency arrived at the scene within six minutes and transported Witt to the University of Kentucky Emergency Department, where she was pronounced dead from blunt force injuries."

I had read elsewhere (not sure where, and haven't found that source again) that she was thrown into a concrete support structure of the rail, and that is what caused those "blunt force injuries."

I found that source (drf), and you can read what they wrote over in the 'Racing" section under the 'RIP Callie Witt" thread.

I watched a replay of the 2022 Fantasy and the interviewer made reference to the trainer saying that Yuugiri's dam Yuzuru passed away "recently."

Some farms take a while to register foals so worth keeping a eye out still
Ask me any questions you have about New Zealand and Australia racing
