SNAP DECISION finished 2nd in his season debut in the Temple Gwathmey H. (Grade 2) over jumps at Middleburg on Saturday, April 23. He won this race last year. Iranistan won the race this time.

Gut-punched this weekend. GREEN LIGHT GO euthanized after a workout. Broken right front leg irreparably damaged according to vet report. Damn! Took me a while to reconcile with that one, though my heart is still broken. Poor baby seemed to be doing so much better back with Jerkens. Made me so sad. :-(

Agree. I was so thrilled that he was moved from Hollendorfer. I know Jerkens was so careful with him, always doing what was right for the horse. I remember when he was a 2yo and Jerkens scratched him from a stakes because the track was sloppy. Not because he wasn't any good on slop - but because he was so young and Jerkens wanted to campaign him as a 3yo and didn't want to add slop to the mix so soon.

Jerkens and staff must feel awful.

IN A SPIN had a really nice win in a 1-mile SOC on the turf at Laurel Park today. Quite the stretch run for her. Her record is now 4-2-0-0.

SNAP DECISION won the (Grade 1) $150,000 Calvin Houghland Iroquois Sport of Kings Hurdle Stakes at 3 miles over national fences at the Iroquois Steeplechase in Nashville, TN on Saturday May 15. He won by over 7 lengths. 15-10-5-0 is his record since switching to the jumps.

Surging Exotic West Looks Tough in Allaire du Pont
Hard Spun filly is 2-for-3 at the 1 1/8-mile distance and 5-for-11 on dirt.

Exotic West has bounced around a lot for a 4-year-old Thoroughbred who has earned more than a quarter of a million dollars. She's run for four trainers at seven tracks, and she's on a roll for New York-based Gary Sciacca.

The Kentucky-bred daughter of Hard Spun has a record of 5-3-2 in 15 starts, and if you ignore her 0-for-4 mark on grass for Sciacca, Exotic West looks even better. He finally figured out that her thing would be going long on the main track, and May 20 she'll make her graded-stakes debut in the 1 1/8-mile, $150,000 Allaire du Pont Distaff (G3)

HIDDEN SCROLL is entered in an AOC for a tag of $80,000 at Belmont on Sunday. So sad what has happened to this horse. He had so much talent. Just baffling. What happened? Poorly managed? Makes me very sad. I saw the same with A THEAD OF BLUE last week who earned over $1,000,000 for his connections and they let him slide down to claiming races. No sense of obligation to a horse that wins over $1million in purse money for you? Shameful, I think.

LOYALTY won race #9 at Woodbine today. HARD EDGE was a clear second in the same race. Both are lightly raced. Both seem to have some talent. Loyalty: 2-2-0-0 Hard Edge: 6-1-3-2
They led 1-2 the whole way. They also were the two with the lowest odds. LOYALTY is 2 for 2 now and she beat older in this race.

Here is the video for SNAP DECISION's impressive win in the G1 Iroquois Stakes on May 16. Second year in a row for SNAP. They used different tactics...kept him right up on the leader's flank the whole race...took command on 3rd from last jump, I think it was. Won by 7 1/4 lengths. The race was 3 miles this year.

MAXIM MOMENT won race #3 at Santa Anita today. His record is now 9-1-1-2. Slow learner this one, but he won pretty easily. I think the longer distance agreed with him.
