Songbird's Curlin colt

Was there any info given out about how big he was/is? This photo is kind of wonky, composition wise, so it's hard from the picture to get a line on his size.

I'm curious just because she got SO big there at the end!🙂

Well, he looks pretty normal size, judging from these newer, and much better, pictures.

I second the comment about how cute he is, and I too look forward to watching him develop. Pretty exciting!

So far she's been bred to Arrogate (gray), Tapit (gray) twice, and Curlin (chestnut), but all her foals have been bays like her.

What does this mean genetics wise? Still learning.

I know nothing about genetics (well not much) but I think she (Songbird) is a homozygous bay or something along those lines. That being said the real reason I am quoting you is that I thought you meant Midnight Bisou and I was REALLY confused as to what year it was and questioning my memories of Midnight Bisou just retiring not long ago LOL

All those stallions are heterozygous grey, meaning they carry one copy of the grey gene (vs two). That just means they'll pass that grey gene roughly 50% of the time, but didn't happen to pass it in those breedings with Songbird.
Her foals being all bay doesn't mean much at this point 4 foals in. Bay is the predominant colour in the breed and base colour is determined by the sire and dam. Both Arrogate and Tapit have a base colour under the grey. Unless she's EE AA bay, it's likely just luck of the draw that the sire's genetics contributed the other half to produce bay. We know at minimum she's Ee Aa
