Good luck to him! :D
The G1 Hopeful Stakes winner by Deep Impact caught my attention since his maiden victory at Kokura back in August.
He is out of the G1 winning filly Killer Graces(USA) and I always LOVED her sire Congaree(USA), too!!! 8-)
Plus her dam's sire was the super-talented Old Trieste(USA).

Personally I would love to see Drefong(USA) get his first Classic and/or G1 winner here, even if his sons drew wide.
Both are out of the King Kamehameha mares.
A Classic victory here will definitely cement Drefong's status as one of the most popular stallions at Shadai Stallion Station.

Geoglyph(JPN) wins the Satsuki Sho, the first leg of the Japanese Triple Crown, for Drefong(USA)!!!!

Yes Geoglyph!!! SUGOI

He has been a favorite of mine since his maiden... I love his name!

His past runs haven't been fantastic but he did great today. I hope Yuiichi Fukunaga keep the ride :)

And stunning black Equinox was second. Fantastic!

Yes!!
I think that the son of Kitasan Black will run even better in the Derby, too. ;)

Yeah, based on pedigree Equinox and Do Deuce are gonna be very dangerous in the derby. I will be still rooting for Geoglyph if he goes but that's gonna be stressing

It will be interesting to see if Geoglyph can win going further. His sire was obviously a sprinter but is by Gio Ponti, and you have King Kamehameha and Sunday Silence on the dam's side.

This is going to be the most interesting debate topic for the Tokyo Yushun this year!! 8-)
Obviously, Drefong was a champion sprinter.
But he may still break down some preconceived ideas as a stallion. :D
From what I've seen yesterday, I would believe that Geoglyph will get additional two furlongs in the Japanese Derby.
I think that he will at least hit the board if his condition is fine.
His dam Aromatico(JPN)(King Kamehameha) was the two-time G1 placed going 2000m Shuka Sho & 2200m QE2 Cup, too.
I will try to find more info about Drefong's first crop, some time later.
Drefong has been doing so well!!

This could have been bad. Yay for the Churchill outriders. :o

It was interesting to find out that there is no starting bell used in the Japanese gates, so the Churchill gate bell was a "surprise" for the colt.

I'm glad to hear that everyone is okay!

Through this incident, Japanese fans may learn how great and helpful the outriders at the US tracks are, too!!!

Thanks for sharing!!! :D
I thought that's a great article and very interesting read!!!!
The only mistake I noticed was....
More recently, Japanese interests have acquired top American runners such as California Chrome , Bricks and Mortar , Mind Your Biscuits , Animal Kingdom , Drefong , Eskendereya , Four Wheel Drive , Henny Hughes , New Year's Day , Pyro , Shanghai Bobby , and Silver State to join their stallion ranks.
Silver State(USA) is NOT standing in Japan.
It's Silver State(JPN)(by Deep Impact) who is standing in Japan. ;)

I'm actually not being snarky when I say this publication seems to have given up researching, proofreading, and editing.

Oops, I apologize if my comment sounded snarky.
I do think that that Bloodhorse article is the most comprehensive & updated write-up about Crown Pride(JPN), his connections and the recent Japanese horses going abroad, in English or in Japanese.
That's definitely a very informative report and I really enjoyed reading it.
And I know that Bob Ehalt has kindly been casting spotlights regularly on the Japanese runners who are coming to the states. 8-)
Once again, that's a great work.
And he is actually one of the writers I do respect!! :D

Meanwhile, I wonder if it's very rare and interesting that two stallions with the same name are standing at the same time in the US and in Japan, respectively, and both of whom are popular.
Silver State(JPN) may not yet be well known to abroad.
But he is currently the second in the second-crop sire ranking in Japan, following the super Drefong(USA)!
Will we see a match-up between a Silver State(USA) offspring and a Silver State(JPN) offspring soon somewhere?

Oh no! You didn't sound snarky at all. I was worried that my comment in reply to yours would sound harsh.

Yes, The Bloodhorse is still an excellent, worthwhile read...but I've noticed over the years that they keep publishing articles with obvious mistakes.
