Rest in-peace to the filly that was euthanized in plain view on a live feed via the Foal Patrol camera at Claiborne Farm this morning. The only information I could find is this on their Twitter. I'm not sure who it was, but it was around/near Elate's paddock:
"The foal seen had a rare, congenital respiratory condition that our team had closely monitored for well over a month. Sadly the foal had deteriorated to the point where she could hardly breathe, and the tough decision was made to humanely euthanize to mitigate further suffering."

Because it took me a very long time to find this information, since it isn't even in the Korea stud book, here is the Instagram post stating it.

This is sad, but not a surprise to me.
When he was sold to Korea, I had a terrible, sinking feeling. Just felt like this would not turn out well for the big chestnut.

Why exactly do you feel that? He was clearly loved at his new farm, and it isn't like this an issue we are free from here in the StatesBaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 12:52 pm This is sad, but not a surprise to me.

I always get a sinking feeling when one of our horses is sold to Korea. I don't know what they do over there but it seems like the horses have a short life span.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 12:52 pm This is sad, but not a surprise to me.

I know. It's hard to explain...but sometimes my intuition seems to pick up vibes from the future.

Same can be said about the studs that stand here. Theyre obese, over bred, get injected to breed more. How many studs within the last decade died due to heart attacksBaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 7:21 pm Why exactly do you feel that? The Joe Sharp-trained Sacred Samurai won the 7th race at Keeneland, and they brought Callie's pony, Miles, into the winner's circle for the photo. Gave me goosebumps...and a few tears.

From the Bloodhorse article:
"The incident occurred shortly after 8 a.m. ET when Witt was thrown from an unraced 3-year-old, who took a "stutter step" and then fishtailed, throwing Witt over its left shoulder, according to Sharp. Alpha Event Medicine, the track's on-site medical team, immediately attended to her life-threatening injuries. Lexington Fire and Emergency arrived at the scene within six minutes and transported Witt to the University of Kentucky Emergency Department, where she was pronounced dead from blunt force injuries."

I had read elsewhere (not sure where, and haven't found that source again) that she was thrown into a concrete support structure of the rail, and that is what caused those "blunt force injuries."
