Practical Joke has his first crop of horses as 2 year old fillies and colts this year and has 10 winners so far. He also has 2 stakes winners, Wit and Joker Boy. Wit won the Sanford Stakes (grade 3), finished 2nd in the Hopeful Stakes (grade 1) and was 3rd in the Champaign Stakes (grade 1). So, I would say that Practical Joke is off to a pretty good start as a stallion.
BTW, Practical Joke is a son of Into Mischief, who is the hottest sire in the country right now.

Bourbon Heist (3 year old colt) Finished second in a MSW race at Churchill Downs yesterday. That was the 6th time that Bourbon Heist finished second in MSW races. Not much he could do yesterday because he was in with a colt named Strobe, who won with a time of 1:08.71 which is very fast, especially for a first time starter, which is what Strobe was. Bourbon Heist was second by 4 1/2 lengths which means that his time was around 1:09 and change, which is pretty fast.
I think that Bourbon Heist is a good colt and should win one sooner or later. At least he won't have to race against Strobe in a maiden race again. BTW, Strobe is by Into Mischief. Strobe looks like he could be a real good one.

Bourbon Heist is a horse I've been following and was happy to see this post. His 9th maiden and still didn't break it. But your explanation gave me hope.
I wonder what Wilkes is doing/not doing, its a puzzle for me, what will give this lovely horse a breakthru. He's cut him back in distance a few times, too, right?
Maybe next time is the charm!
