Beyblader’s race not bad. Finished with some interest. Should be able to improve off that effort. Typical of many of the Arrogates: needs route of ground and usually not forwardly placed.

Got Thunder, tried on grass in a MSW at SA on Sat, broke well, ran up with leaders, then folded in the stretch to finish far back. Maybe needs a vet check to rule out bone bruising, a break somewhere with turnout, and possibly a drop in class.

I thought Secret Oath gave a good account of herself in the Arkansas Derby. With a better ride she certainly would have been 2nd. No horse has a 1/2 mile move at the end of a race. Contreras moved too soon. Hope Wayne re-considers jock selection come KY Oaks.

Tremendous performance by Secret Oath today. His middle race moves are something to behold. Arrogate is one helluva distance sire. Almost all his horses finish. He is quietly very good. Has had several horses place in last few weeks at Class I tracks. They should be breaking their maidens shortly. He is now #2 on 2nd crop sire list. He also has 2nd highest earnings per starter behind Gun Runner. Fewest starters of top 10 2nd crop sires. Should have a big 2nd half of 2022.
