Based on that picture, those forelimbs don't look like they would hold up in training, let alone racing. Given her breeding value, doubt the owner will press the matter.

I think there's only one more MDO o/o Lemons Forever or her daughters left to name, or he might have had to move on to portmanteaus. He has used them occasionally in the past. Off the top of my head, the 2018 Speightstown colt o/o Perfect La Comete (Perfect Soul half to Munnings) is named Speight'spercomete

If there’s only one more of those left (So thereby, the “supply” is finite) , he should play off that fact given the dam’s name Forever in it... so, something like No More Lemons or Squeezed Dry (also referencing Horatio Luro’s famous comment about squeezing the lemon dry)

If only he appreciated a clever name I felt like the unnecessary apostrophe in Speight'spercomete is what really gave it ooomph.Slewfan2 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 10:16 pmthat’s justmariasmon wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 9:18 pmI think there's only one more MDO o/o Lemons Forever or her daughters left to name, or he might have had to move on to portmanteaus. So the only one remaining is the yearling MDO colt from Unbridled Forever and he was her last foal, since she died in 2021. Lemons Forever and Forever Unbridled were both bred to him for 2021, but neither produced foals. Fipke actually branched out last year and sent Lemons to Speightstown and Forever Unbridled went to Seeking the Soul.
The only other currently producing daughter of Lemons Forever he has is Perfect Forever (Perfect Soul) and she's had 3 Mineshafts, a Sky Mesa, a Tale of Ekati and a Speightstown and was bred back to him for 2022. The now 6YO Lemon's Medaglia might be retired. She broke her maiden in November 2021 and followed it up with an allowance win, but no works since early January. Her 2018 full sister D'oro Forever may be retired, as well. She couldn't get out of her own way in 3 starts.
I just hope Lemons, Forever Unbridled and her other 3 daughters get some variety in their matings so he doesn't run out of permutations to use. 'cause then you end up with Speight'spercomete.

Thanks for the info ...my head is spinning with these dreadful names, lol. The Tale of Ekati is named Creme Caramel - I’m shocked he didn’t use Forever Ekati or Perfect Ekati.
At some point, he’s not going to be able to use MdO or Speightstown...he needs to deal with that, lol

Looks like Creme Caramel was sold as a yearling, so she got a normal name. When I check for names of his 2YOs each year, I can usually tell right off from just the name if it's one he sold. Essentially, if the horse was given a good or normal name, he no longer owns it. He sent some 2YOs to Dubai, though, and they didn't get named at the same time he named the ones who stayed in North America, so that threw me a bit.
It also seems that he tends to keep the offspring of certain mares, as he's hung onto everything from Lemons Forever, Unbridled Forever and Forever Unbridled. Perfect Forever has gone through the ring 3 times and RNAd each time, so he must not want to sell her that badly. But he's sold some of her offspring. He does have her 2 Mineshaft daughers (Mine's Perfect and Perfect Mine ), both of whom visited Seeking the Soul last year.

I don't get why he never tried Lemons Forever with another Unbridled line stallion. She clearly did well with UBS, as that is her only 2 foals that are really of note. Forever d'Oro finished 3rd in a stakes at 3 but nothing else of note. She hasn't crossed well with the Sadler's Wells line, its been done the majority of her breeding career.mariasmon wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 12:06 amWhen I look at his names, I think, "There's a man who made a plan and is fully committed to it."Slewfan2 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 11:50 pmI feel sorry for any announcer that has to pronounce Speight'spercomete.mariasmon wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 11:35 pm

Also I don't personally like that Mine's Perfect and Perfect Mine (Mineshaft - Perfect Forever, by Perfect Soul) went to Seeking the Soul (Perfect Soul - Seeking The Title, by Seeking The Gold) because of the 2x3 inbreeding. There aren't many "normal" names for the resulting foals as Seeking The Title was bred to Perfect Soul so many times that pretty much all the name combos he has already used.

Seeing the names like that, it’s even worse...it’s annoying how he puts zero effort into naming his horses. Honestly, I just can’t like him ....mariasmon wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 12:06 amWhen I look at his names, I think, "There's a man who made a plan and is fully committed to it."Slewfan2 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 11:50 pmI feel sorry for any announcer that has to pronounce Speight'spercomete.mariasmon wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 11:35 pm

At some point, he’s going to have to breed to different sires due to gross inbreeding possibilities ...and also, because maybe he’d have better luck. I feel sorry in a way for these mares - they’re not given real shots at success

For the Mineshaft mares, I like Absolution, Lost Lemon Mine (a “real” Canadian legend), Lost Dutchman Mine (another legend - Arizona), ...but I’m sure we’ll get Forever Mine, Mine Forever, Shaft Soul, Seeking Shaft, etc..Flanders wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 12:28 amI don't get why he never tried Lemons Forever with another Unbridled line stallion.
