Bulldog Boss is very handsome! There's a pic of him on PQ.

But it always bothered me that they didn't interview Georgia Ridder after he won (on the Breeders Cup coverage on NBC) and instead interviewed everyone involved with Cigar. He was a beauty and I'm happy he got to live to 31.
I loved Alphabet Soup so much, and when he won, I was so happy but then confused why all they were doing was talking about Cigar. Glad he had a good long, pampered life.

Seeing him get pensioned makes me feel old! Also I hope the Paulick Report changes his age in the article. He’s 20 not 16

20 makes more sense. I was like 16 is awful young to be pensioned. Was it fertility issues? Lack of interest from breeders?

He covered 15 mares in 2021, 17 in 2020, 25 in 2019, 22 in 2018, etc. Fertility hovered around 55%... so.... both? Probably lack of interest though tbh.

Aww, I just rewatched his Preakness and Belmont because they randomly popped into my youtube home page. He has such a big heart, too bad he wasn't more successful at stud.

They said in the one article I read it was because of lack of interest from breeders.

I loved Afleet Alex for his heart (and on a personal level, being a cancer survivor, for how his connections helped to publicize and supported Alex's Lemonade Stand). I hope he enjoys a very long and happy retirement.

Nitrous (Tapit - Speedinthruthecity, by City Zip) was sold to South Korea for stud duty. From the dates, looks like he came in with Gemologist.

Yeah he is. It just happened 2 months ago though and was never announced. Gemologist's sale was announced but nothing about Nitrous. Nitrous was just registered for stud duty in South Korea 2 weeks ago.

:(

I really liked Nitrous and was just looking at him the other day. I was hoping he might end up at a Western stud farm.

He was only 10 and had made a good start to his stud career. He was from the wonderful No Class family.

Nicole Russo @DRFRusso
G3W and young sire Speightster euthanized after suffering an irreparable injury to a hind leg in his stall. Formerly at WinStar, he arrived in Canada in January after being purchased by Jay & Christine Hayden to stand at Northern Dawn.

Been on the fence about buying into a Speighster baby and I'm tempted to do that now
