Sean Tugel of Gainesway was interviewed on the Nick Luck Daily Podcast yesterday said they are limiting Tapit's book to around 90 mares this year, trying to keep it to no more than two covers a day... no mention of restricting maiden mares, but with wear and tear and perhaps fear of declining fertility, they don't want mares that are unknown quantities? Just an absolute guess, most likely a wrong one.

Tapit is 21. It makes sense that they're limiting his book to try to keep him going for a few more seasons.

Magician is on the move yet again, this time back to his roots in Ireland from Italy.

Meanwhile, Network Effect (MG1P) and Diamond King (MSW full to Bellafina) are standing at Rancho Santa Rosa in the Phillipines.

Social Inclusion is now a completely private stallion. The owner hopes to relaunch his stallion career later but he will not cover outside mares until then.

Listing (Square Eddie x Marquis Diamond, by Yonaguska) will enter stud at Ocean Breeze Ranch in California.

He won the 2019 G3 Quick Call (in his last start), Cal Cup Turf Sprint, and Desert Code Stakes as a three-year-old...and won his debut race as a juvenile, the I'm Smokin Stakes. Not sure where he's been since 2019. He has two full SW siblings. Won on dirt and turf.

Ocean Breeze stood Square Eddie and later his son Mrazek who passed after 1 year at stud. Perhaps Listing will be SE's successor. SE also has G1W Ralis standing somewhere in Canada.

A good article on the new stallions of 2022, mostly focusing on Ireland and the UK, but also includes a little about some incoming stallions in Europe and the US.

It was already announced that Diamond B Farm in Pennsylvania was closing and some of their stallions new locations had been released earlier.

Eastwood (Speightstown - Fifth Avenue Ball, by Deputy Minister) will be standing at Walmac.
Rowayton (Into Mischief - Rosemonde, by Indian Charlie) will stand privately at Taylor Made. Its kind of a strange move to me, he only went to stud in 2021 but Larry Best's other stallions, Instagrand and Instilled Regard stand there.
Talent Search (Catienus - Mrs K, by Dixieland Band) moves to Pellinor Lane Farm in WV.

The article with these moves plus the previously announced ones.

I always associated Diamond B with the sale of retired fan favorite Pants on Fire to Saudi Arabia.

Made You Look (MSGW, Serena's Song grandson) will enter stud in Argentina at the same farm where Gidu (Frankel) stands.

Alphabet Soup is gone. Euthanized aged 31 at Old Friends.

https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Old ... QhlJ0i8LYI

I saw a lot of him when he stood at Adena Springs Ocala, he was a stunning horse. A handful in the breeding shed but it was cute to see him become such a pet at Old Friends. I know he was one of Michael's favourites.

I wonder if Blowen is going to need to find a new companion for 'Soup's buddy, the donkey Gorgeous George. They were pretty bonded and I'm sure George misses his buddy. :(

He was a beautiful horse. I finally got to visit Kentucky last summer and oddly no one in my group at Old Friends knew much about racing or was really that interested in feeding Soup. So the tour guide let me feed Soup three times, and he licked my palms clean to make sure he got every last bit of shredded carrot off my hands. I'm really glad I got a chance to meet him.

I'll never forget him winning the Classic at Woodbine. I understand that Cigar was the big story. But it always bothered me that they didn't interview Georgia Ridder after he won (on the Breeders Cup coverage on NBC) and instead interviewed everyone involved with Cigar. He was a beauty and I'm happy he got to live to 31.

What an awesome memory. He was such a cool horse. I’m so sad to see he is gone, but boy, did he have an incredible life.

Bulldog Boss was basically a NAR-trained horse, winner of the Jpn1 JBC Sprint in 2019.
Sungrazer was a MGSW & runner-up in the G1 Tenno Sho Autumn in 2018.
I thought the videos of Contrail and Poetic Flare were great.
It's a bit shame that they don't have all stallions standing, though.
