Gary Stevens, just now: This mare [Leslie's Lady] just doesn't throw ugly horses.

A huge loss to their racing and breeding operation. You literally can wrap them in bubble wrap and they’ll still find a way to get hurt.

So eerily similar to what happened earlier in the year to Santa Barbara. :(

The Snowfall news almost ruined my entire day. I was really looking forward to seeing her foals.

Our sentiment exactly.
With St Mark's Basilica already retired, she would have been expected to lead the line for the trainer's older horses in 2022. More than that, as a daughter of Deep Impact out of a sister to the stable's 2016 Arc winner Found, her value to Coolmore as a future broodmare was incalculable, with O'Brien indicating the plan had been to send her to be covered by St Mark's Basilica in the spring.

Still playing the waiting game with Enable. Juddmonte posted this photo of her this morning in Newmarket.

Just curious, has IVANAVINALOT been retired/passed away? According to Breeders Cup Nominations she has not been bred since 2019 (when GALT was foaled).

Goshen Hawk (Cozar x Dissident Hawk, by Stutz Blackhawk) has been pensioned from breeding to become...a nurse mare at Cold Springs Nurse Mares in Florida. Interesting pedigree.

Goshen Hawk has a racing record of 46: 6-6-7 and has produced four foals. She was bred to Editorial for a 2022 foal but it can be assumed she slipped the foal or didn't conceive. Her last foal is a 2021 filly by Tapwrit foaled in Maryland.

She was at one time owned by Usquebaugh Stables, who shared this news on their page.

Rose Catherine has the "put out of stud" notation in the Japanese Stud Book. I've never been certain exactly what that means. Is she pensioned? It doesn't say she died.

I'm sure Tachyon will know for sure, but Azeri is also listed as "put out of stud," and it was definitely announced that she had been pensioned. So that would be my guess -- that this is the way to designate a pensioned (but presumably still living) horse.

Yeah, that makes sense. Horses who have died have a death date listed in the Japanese Studbook.

Anyone know the status of her 2017 MDO colt? Never named so assumed he passed at an early age?

They tried to sell him at the 2018 September yearling sale but he was unfortunate looking. He RNA'd at 60k. I'm guessing he didn't get better looking as he got older and they just didn't bother naming him, had him gelded and gave him away. He has a pretty head that is about all I can say when I look at him, ofc this is a photo from him as a yearling.

There were other photos from him at the sale and his legs were crooked, like really crooked. I can understand no one wanting to breed that on, even though he has spectacular siblings.
