Sealiway upsets the Champion Stakes over Adayar-5th and Mishriff Hoping he comes for over for BC. Surprisingly there was no French translator to interview the owner/trainer.

Nicest (American Pharoah - Chicquita, by Montjeu) who ran 4th in Keeneland's QE II Challenge Cup(G1), ran in the colors of Katsumi Yoshida for the first time. So I'm guessing she goes to Japan soon.

This write-up about the Champion Stakes from racingpost made me grin. ;)

He was never headed from that point under Mickael Barzalona, who wasn't as exuberant in his celebration as when he won the Derby on Pour Moi in 2011, but was able to salute the crowd before Sealiway crossed the line three-quarters of a length clear of the supplemented Dubai Honour, with Mac Swiney a further length and a half away in third.

Allow me to introduce you to Lord Bourbon (Not Bourbon x Yes She's a Lady, by Yes It's True) who is bred to be a miler at best but demolished the 12 furlong Russian Derby (RUSG1) field. He is a 3x G1W in Russia and he won the First Crown Stakes as a juvenile, which Chrome Blame (California Chrome) also won this year. He is from the family of Pure Clan and was bred by Fipke.

I found this yesterday and was very impressed by this performance from August. I also enjoyed the camerawork. Really puts you into the race!

Going to assume that the chart for that race excluded the phrase “ground saving trip” for every single horse.

Terrible news about Snowfall. Followed her from the U.S. About 10-13 years ago I visited the National Stud at Newmarket and one of their stallions who I think was a classic winner had suffered a fractured pelvis but survived and was at stud. I'm rapidly becoming senile but his name had Cockney in it? Cockney Victor?
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Yes, that was him. We also got to meet a Grand National winner ( I think) who wanted pets and mints--began with A? Very sweet horse!

I suspect that was Amberleigh House, he was at the National Stud.

I heard some unfortunate news from a European commentator that Subjectivist, the impressive winner of the Ascot Gold Cup, has 'been ruled out' for the rest of the season with an injury. RacingPost has an article:
https://www.racingpost.com/news/race-re ... kes/499534
They have said he will remain on the sidelines for 2022 and are hopeful he can return in 2023.
