Lentenor is an out and will NOT be sold at the keeneland January sale. He's been purchased privately from Calumet Farm by his former breeders in Indiana and will be sent to Cabin Creek Farm in Pennsylvania to stand stud alongside Ice Box. His breeders that bought him said they are his forever home. I'm literally crying tears of happiness and joy right now. He's gotten a safe permanent home and I worked hard with the daughter of the people who bought him to help facilitate that

Indiana Stallion Station? They previously stood him.

I thought Lentenor had been in Indiana as a Calumet regional stallion? They have a few regionals.

Given the female family is a productive one and has some stars of late and that he is by Twirling Candy with that sireline doing well at the moment, I could see plenty of places willing to take a chance

Curious about something. I've never seen this really discussed or opined on before, but is it possible that Exaggerator's obvious proclivity for off tracks could be a factor in his being shipped off to a regional market after only 2 crops to race? Or should something like that not be a concern in the commercial viability of a new stallion?

I've just never seen this brought up before in conversations like this, and I'm wondering what people think.

I would say that is a non-factor. He was well supported his first few years at stud, he still got over 100 mares in his 4th season. His reason for being sold is, he got 19 mares in 2021 and hasn't sired a single graded stakes winner from 2 crops and I don't think he even had a Graded placed horse. Breeders have been losing money on breeding to him too, his 2021 yearlings averaged 16k on a 25k stud fee. There just isn't room at the big commercial farms for stallions who aren't going to cut it. Most are going to fail and move on, that is how its always been.

I agree with all that myself. Like I said, I just had never seen it mentioned before and was curious about people's thoughts. Also, Exaggerator's case was so "exaggerated".....all three of his GI wins were in the slop, and, if I remember correctly, his 2nd in the Derby to Nyquist was on an off track. I don't have his career stats in front of me, but did he ever actually get a win on a dry, fast track. He was really quite unusual in that way.

People tried to make a rivalry out of Nyquist and Exaggerator, which was laughable at the time (and especially in retrospect) because going into the Derby Nyquist had beaten EXGTR every single time. Only exception was the Preakness where Nyquist's jock famously set a suicide pace on a sloppy track where the field's closer also happened to be an expert mudder.

This was also the year Mohaymen was supposedly a Triple Crown winner.

I like him the most of the 3, but either someone is lying about Charlatan having "Exceptional conformation" or someone needed to set up a better angle to show it. His head/neck looked like they belong to a different body.

He seemed quite narrow when walking “like a cat”!
