OMG! ALOHA WEST! Yahoooooo! This may sound ridiculous because he had yet to win a stakes race, but I knew he could win this race if he got a clean start and started his run earlier. Only concern was the short stretch. After that closing kick he showed in his last race, I knew he could have won that race, too, if he had started his run earlier. Jose Ortiz said the same thing in his comments after the BC Sprint today, i.e, that he had planned to start his run earlier because that had cost him his last race. What a run that was today. I am just over the moon. Another BC champion for Hard Spun. And what a stage for Aloha West to get his first stakes win. Holy cow! Can you tell I'm happy!

2 other horses went down in this race. VERTICAL THREAT clipped heels and went down and took another horse down (ROUGH ENTRY). Both jockeys walking. Chart says VT vanned off and RE walked off.

HIDDEN SCROLL worked 3 furlongs today 11/6/2021 at Turfway. Hope they can get beyond his bleeding issue.

NECKER ISLAND won the $300,000 Bet on Sunshine Stakes at Churchill Downs 11/6/2021. His first stakes win.

I was so excited about ALOHA WEST's win and scurrying to get my dinner made that I totally forgot about NECKER ISLAND's race. That so exciting. Another stakes winner for Hard Spun. Good day all around. Two new stakes winners for HS and one a new G1 winner. I think that brings the tally to 88 stakes winners and 15 G1 winners.

SUMMER IN SARATOGA is also entered Saturday the 27th in 1 1/2 Mile, $400,000. Long Island S. (Grade 3) at Aqueduct.

GREEN LIGHT GO is entered Sunday the 28th in the 6-furlong $200,000 Fall Highweight H. (Grade 3) at Aqueduct. He's back with Jimmy Jerkens and they are adding blinkers and returning to dirt.

ATTACHMENT RATE is entered in an AOC also on Sunday and at Churchill Downs. He has a new trainer, too. I hope that helps. First start off a 5 month layoff, but he's been working since early October.

Aloha West, a two-time winner at Saratoga Race Course this summer, returned to the work tab Nov. 24 for trainer Wayne Catalano, recording a half-mile move in :49.40 over the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots main track.

"We wanted to put the Cigar Mile in play, which is why we breezed Wednesday, but we're monitoring him closely ahead of the race," Wellman said. "That workout was designed to try to get a gauge on if we should pursue the race or not."

A victory would make Aloha West the first horse to capture both the Breeders' Cup Sprint and Cigar Mile.

Oh, I think Life is Good is pointing there. Yikes. Formidable competition. But, so was Jackie's Warrior.... Whoops, just read that article and no mention of Life is Good. I thought I read something about him pointing there, but I must be mistaken.
