You could pay $25K to breed to a HOTY (Knicks Go) OR you could pay $40K to a horse that never won a single G1.

Granted KG's pedigree isn't as fashionable as Maxfield's but I digress.
I haven't followed KG much, but I don't think he's had problems staying sound? Or am I wrong?
Cox says he’s sound. He’s certainly sounder than Maxfield!

My 12yo Lab is sounder than Maxfield.

Frankel will stand 2022 for 200,000 pounds or $271,000 making him more expensive than into mischief

I also thought 75k for essential quality and 40k for Maxfield was expensive

Agree. Feels like the market is inflated for all the prices. Silver Slate would be better at 10k or even 15k

12 have 2 winners and Dubawi was the first with 3 winners.

By My Standards retires to spendthrift with a fee of $7500..retires because of a quarter crack that would require him to miss the rest of his racing season goals before breeding season starts

While I think the Into Mischief’s (or sons of sons of IM) are flooding the market, this horse deserves a real shot. He was unlucky to not win a G1, he is fast and sound(er than most), and he’s shown he’s a classy , tough horse repeatedly.

English Channel likely to miss the breeding season due to “multiple health issues”. Damn I hope he will be ok.

Knicks Go for $30,000

Seems reasonable to me

Too bad about English Channel. Not that Calumet is a for-profit business, but he is far and away their best stallion.

At that price Knicks go is cheaper than essential quality. I'd breed to Knicks go

He's older..could this be a precursor to eventually relieving him of stud duties and pensioning him?

At least the farm has accessibility to the best equine veterinarians in the country, so that will definitely help. There aren't many stallions available that have Theatrical (IRE) as a broodmare sire around, and he is having such a banner year, too.
I wanna do bad things with you.

I thought I was the only one looking for Theatrical in pedigrees! Loved him.
